This ridiculous absurd idea that we should arm teachers! So many things wrong with that, but for starters teachers can't even get supplies and now we are going to pay to arm them! LOL! #donaldtrump #schoolshootings #armingteachers
Students will be suspended for standing up for their right to be safe at school
So he decided to spout out a tweet storm of #NRA talking points from his bed at the White House...
Long story short, the President thinks he can stop school shootings by arming algebra teachers and gym coaches with concealed weapons.
Take a second and try and mentally picture one of your high school teachers saving your life in a wild west style shoot out with an active school shooter.
Yup, that’s the President of the United States plan to keep your kids safe. That’s the best he could do folks. The man is an idiot! The emperor has no clothes.
Trump's only mentions of the massacre came in tweets Saturday contending that the FBI was too focused on the Russia investigation to respond to warnings about the alleged shooter and mocking Democrats for failing to pass gun control.
"They say that tougher gun laws do not decrease gun violence. We call BS!
They say a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun. We call BS!
They say guns a...re just tools like knives and are as dangerous as cars. We call BS!"

I am a forensic psychiatrist who specializes in mental health and the law and how they relate, including the statistics related to mental illness and gun crimes... which I’m qualified to talk about as an expert witness in court.
Mental illness and gun crimes are unrelated. Hate and the determination to kill are not mental illnesses. Can someone be mentally ill and kill someone? Of course. Do they kill because of a mental illness? In almost all cases no. Depression does not cause us to kill someone. Mania does not cause someone to kill someone. Most mental illnesses are not associated with violence. Statistically, mentally ill individuals are far less likely to commit violent crime than non mentally ill individuals and they are FAR more likely to be the victim of violence than commit it. In the very rare instances mentally ill individuals do commit violence, they rarely use guns, tending to reach for weapons of convenience.
AND FAR MORE IMPORTANTLY: mental illness cannot be the cause of our gun problem in the US BECAUSE OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE THE SAME RATES OF MENTAL ILLNESS AND NO OTHER COUNTRY HAS THIS GUN PROBLEM. It is simple logic. The prevalence rate of Schizophrenia, the diagnosis I see most erroneously associated with violence, is 1% WORLDWIDE, NOT JUST THE US.
