Had a really good time even though my Atlanta Falcons loss the game. The food and drinks were good. The wait staff was very attentive of cleaning up our table when we were done with each dish.

It wa...s a good crowd watching the game and others participating in a onesies bar crawl, which gave us added entertainment. Was happy when they turned the music off and turned the sound on to the football game!! Overall great time with friends watching the game See More

extremely disappointed!
1. for game nights they should have more staff on the floor, waiting times are too long
2. bartenders need to specify when 20% gratuity is included, printed receipt did not tip at all. Receipt should clearly display TIP HAS BEEN ADDED under the gratuity section and not leave it blank! Do staff expect to get double tip???
2. Manager was disrespectful when I approached him with the 20% tip not being displayed on my check... I had to ask for the detail receipt, because it was never provided!

I've been going to Public for the past two years to play trivia, but sadly will not be going back. After increasingly downhill service and poor management, my friends were treated with disrespect by s...taff and by the managers of Public's social media accounts.

When we first started playing at Public, we ordered a reasonable amount of drinks and food for our 4-10 player team (depending on the week). Slowly, servers started disappearing, leaving us waiting for more and more time as one server tried to manage the entire floor. Naturally, our orders got smaller as we did not have adequate service. In recent months, servers have disappeared altogether and we were asked to go to the bar to order. Not ideal, but fine. Again, this decreased our appetites for both food and drink, especially considering the fact that it could take up to 25 minutes to even get our drinks. When I went to trivia a couple weeks ago, I was told there was a $30 minimum to order any food or drink. Mind you, I would have to go to the bar myself to order this. Not wanting to spend $30 on a Tuesday night for subpar bar food and a couple drinks, I left trivia early.

It's sad to see a place that has been such an integral part of my week go so severely downhill. And it's even sadder to see the response by this business that we have patronized for two years. I hope this review inspires the management to take a good hard look at their business practices going forward and how they treat customers.

Paul the GM is amazing! Great service, and the door-men(security) are all sweethearts. Great music and atmosphere for sure.

Edwin is a great bartender. Once you're a regular he remembers your drink without fail. Football drink specials are great as is their bar menu. Above average char-grilled burger and fries on game day ...for just $6 is a steal in DC. They've embraced the DC Metro Raiders Boosters Club as family and we repay the favor. See More

I had a wonderful time. One of the best sets I've seen in a while (Asides )...and a beautiful vibe. Only caveat is the bathrooms are pretty terrible. It may also be cool,if there were a few outlets... available for charging phones. Other than that, looking forward to another visit. See More

Went to Public this past Saturday evening. We started on the top floor and the bartender was great. HOWEVER, it was loud and we decided to grab a table on the Second Floor to eat and then go back up...stairs for more drinks. When we walked to the bar on the Second level three staff members were having a conversation. They looked at us and kept talking. Another group of patrons came in and one of the bartenders walked immediately over to them. The other bartender looked like he was coming our way, but stopped short and went over to the group that had just come in. DESPITE the other bartender helping them. And DESPITE that party came in AFTER WE DID. NO ONE EVER CAME OVER. We ended up putting our unfinished drinks from upstairs on a table and walked out. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN. See More

Absolutely awful. My friends and I have been coming here every week for two years to participate in District Trivia. Not anymore. It has been getting worse and worse for a while but last night was the... final straw. The food has always been bad and overpriced but the happy hour drink specials were decent. Back when they used to have a server waiting the tables, we would always order plenty of drinks and occasionally some food. Then they stopped having waiters and expected us to go to the bar to order so we naturally ended up spending less money every week. A couple months ago they decided to start imposing table minimums which have steadily increased to the point where last night they told us we needed to spend $40 to be able to sit and play trivia. When we informed them that we didn't think we would be able to meet the minimum, they crumpled up our trivia sheet and told us to leave. Keep in mind that on most Tuesdays the bar is hardly ever crowded and the trivia teams are usually the only reason anyone is even there. When one of our members took to twitter to complain they straight up insulted us and did not back down. They are rude and do not deserve your business. And I haven't even mentioned the terrible bathrooms and the creepy bouncer who always makes one of our group feel really uncomfortable.
TL/DR: Public is a horrible business that treats its customers like shit.

Service was extremely slow and the menu we were provided during game time was limited. We left and went to a different establishment.

The soundsystem was up too high for the DnB night. My ears where ringing. Downstairs looks like a typical sports bar. The rooftop is nice tho!

Pathetic service. Do not waste your time or money here. Staff does not pay attention to you unless you are one of their buddies. What an embarrassment, plenty of other places in the area. Do not bother.
