It has been over 5 years ago since Jen & I started Q-Licious BBQ, how time flies!! We sure had a lot of fun over the years, made lots of friends and did a lot of Q'n! Most of our customers and friends know that back in 2016, we moved to Louisiana with a job change and with all the change, we weren't quite in a position to pick back up here in Louisiana and keep everything moving the way we wanted to. We loved doing the events and cooking for everyone, but just don't have t...he time right now with work and home. We made a conscious decision to sell everything when we moved and back in December 2017 we sold everything to it's new owner, Steve Seydler with Bayside BBQ (https://www.facebook.com/BaysideBBQSouthPadre/).
I wanted to take a minute out here to say thanks again to all of customers over the years, all the people who helped make it happen and keep it moving in the right direction. We had a LOT of support from friends and family along the way, making some great memories and serving up BBQ the best way we knew how. We have some great memories of people standing in line just to tell how good the food was they had that day, the times where we were so buried with a line that looking up was not an option, just keep making the orders! My family and friends calling me Gordon Ramsay because I inspected every order going out to make sure it was right and me laughing as they gave me a hard time. LOL Building bonds and relationships with people, all through sharing of BBQ.
We're certainly not done cooking, we're just not going to be doing it commercially. We needed to focus on our family as the boys are getting older and need us more and while we got great feedback here in Louisiana when we did cook here, there's a LOT of travelling needed here to keep up with events vs back home around St. Louis.
So thanks to each and every one of you who helped us make our dream of serving BBQ a reality and thanks for the memories!!
For those headed to South Padre Island - give Steve a shot! He's a legitimate BBQ'r - and I suspect he's doing it up right! He was SO excited to buy the trailer et al from us and I was promised multiple times he would take care of it as we did and so far he's making good on that promise! You know when something you sell just belongs to someone, as if it was meant? That's exactly how the sale to Steve was - that trailer was meant for him and his wife. SUPER nice and genuine BBQ people - glad we got to meet him and wish them nothing but success moving forward with their setup on South Padre Island!!!
I'm leaving this page up a place holder, but we're not actively seeking any events at this time. If you need to contact us for anything, please do so.
What a day!! It was a lot of fun cooking our Missouri based Kansas City style BBQ for everyone here at Centurylink in Louisiana. We had a lot of GREAT feedback and had a LOT of fun serving lunch to our coworkers. We served ~175 or 185 people in about 2 hours. Well done team!! Talk about knocking the rust off! It was a GREAT cook - everything went off without a hitch and the brisket, pork and chicken were dead on with Jen getting a LOT of compliments on her slaw - nice job... Jen!
Thanks to everyone who helped us with the Centurylink/Appdynamics cook today! Thanks to Hope Myers for making all the arrangements with the onsite setup and drinks etc. Also thanks again Hope for the help cleaning up afterwards - MUCH appreciated! Thanks to Alex Tate for his usual great help with serving the food - we had the A team back in action today with Jen, Alex and myself. Thanks to Kandace Peterson with Appdynamics for all her help in getting orders shipped and picked up. Thanks to Erik Carlson with Trace 3 as well for all the support and help in putting this together. Thanks to Jamie Lin for helping drive this effort and getting it all lined up. And thanks to Jeff Meadows for his help while serving to keep us moving along
Great hearing from everyone back home watching our LA adventures! We'll catch everyone down the road again I'm sure!
A little bit of rain is not dampening today's cook, ribs looking great! Today's cook is a thank you event for our 24x7 monitoring staff in Marion, La. Cooking pulled pork, brisket, ribs, pulled chicken, mac n cheese on the smoker, baked beans and homemade vinegar slaw...should be a great lunch for our staff! On second thought, maybe that's not rain and just LA humidity ...lol!
Happy Independence Day! We are heading up to LuLu's Shaved Ice to bbq for your eating pleasure. Come on up for a pork steak, chicken wings, hot dog or hot link with mac 'n cheese and cole slaw sides.
Thank You to everyone that came to the opening of Wentzville Days hosted by the Wentzville Parks & Recreation to get your bbq on! Unfortunately the rain took over sooner than anticipated and it was a race to the car about 8pm. Thanks to Embers Wood Fired Pizza for the hot and fresh dinner. What a treat!
With hope for a better Saturday, we reloaded the smoker just before midnight and will be ready for you again today starting at noon. We are starting with pulled pork and loading up some brats and wings later in the evening!
Our neighbor next door is LuLu's Shaved Ice for your favorite shaved ice and custard.
