Quota of West Monroe will have its annual fund raiser "The Night of the Cakes" on March 14. It will include a four course meal, celebrity bakers, silent cake auction, and a murder mystery theater. Tickets are $50 per person and need to be bought in advance. Call 318-396-3884 for tickets.


Edward "Bud" Hale, Jr., husband of past governor, Jo Hale, died Friday. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 at Mulhearn funeral home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Services will be Sunday, January 12, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Monroe. Bud was a faithful "Quotation" and often traveled to Quota events with Jo.

Please keep Patti Walker, former president of the Ruston Club in your prayers. Her husband died of a heart attack on Dec. 13 at the age of 63. Patti is from Minden.
