A ROCC 5K Thank You to a few of our Silver Sponsors! While River Birch Lodge and WinMock have annually helped to support our race beneficiary and participants (thank you), we welcome Tom Capron Landscaping to the 2018 event as a first-time sponsor (thank you).

A little 2013 post-race TBT. Enjoy!
We LOVE our sponsors! Without them the race day experience is significantly diminished, and more importantly, so is our ability to bless the race beneficiary (this year, Solus Christus) with needed proceeds. If you, or the company in which you are employed, would like to be loved on (from promotional banner, to race weekend yard signs, to social media presence) and would like to support Solus Christus and the ROCC 5K runners and walkers, just let us know. We have details ready to hand you, and/or send electronically for more information. Contact Rebecca Kearns - Sponsorship Director ( or David Holcomb at River Oaks. Thank you in advance for all you do.
2017 ROCC 5K - Turn 1 Leaders

It's never too early to start thinking about race day parking. Unless you require a special needs space or you are using childcare with infant children (which in both cases we are more than happy to direct you to parking behind and alongside the church - please use Forest Oak Drive), ALL parking - runners, walkers, & volunteers - is at West Forsyth High School.

Please make note of the course, follow our parking volunteer's instructions, and give yourself plenty of time to the perfect pre-race warmup walk (approximately .35 +/- miles) to the pre-race gathering in front of the church.

We are especially grateful to WFHS for allowing the ROCC 5K to utilize their campus for our course and for parking. Our intent is to always leave it in better condition than we arrived. Please help us show our appreciation to the school by doing the same. Thank you.

Race shirt orders are placed this week! We've done a pretty good job of estimating sizes for all of our runners and walkers in the past (you should just see the spreadsheets, trend charts and algorithms that go into this process - great nerdy fun), however, you help this process out tremendously by registering before orders are placed.

Ensure that we have the right mix of sizes and even a few remaining for those race day registrations, who we also appreciate and want to provide a shirt. Thanks, see you soon!

A brightly colored volunteer tee, a breakfast of biscuits, coffee, and fruit, and the opportunity to serve others while supporting Solus Christus ... sounds like a pretty amazing morning, huh?

If this is not your year to run or walk the 5K, but you want to be there to cheer on those who do and you want to support the wonderful, redemptive work of Solus Christus, then please consider volunteering. All you need to know, with options to make your own assignment, can be found here: We really could use a small army of course volunteers, photographers, and childcare workers (background check / church system entry required for childcare). Thank you.

ROCC the Solus Christus 5K is coming up soon - Saturday, May 12th, and there is no more critical component of this event as that of our volunteers. Every volunteer makes a difference in the experience of our walkers / runners, and in enabling the support of our 2018 beneficiary, Solus Christus....

For seven years now, our runners and walkers (and even our volunteers) have enjoyed and appreciated the bananas, oranges and assorted fruits from W.R. Vernon Produce. The official fruit sponsor of the Volunteer Breakfast, and the post-race refuel specialist, the team at Vernon Produce is absolutely awesome. Thank you Vernon W R Produce for taking care of our ROCC 5K runners, walkers, and volunteers.

I promise, it’s not that complicated, but it is so very important. If this is your first year with us, you will hear more about this critical race morning instruction. Everyone has done such a wonderful job the past few years and we thank you in advance for making the Lewisville-Clemmons Road portion of our course such a unique experience for everyone.

P.S. “Stay to your right” 😉

David Holcomb to ROCC Run For God

It's never too early to start spreading the word:

"Stay to your right!"

And yes, we will shout it, lovingly, of course

You all have done such a wonderful job these past few years of staying to your right as you pass the church southbound and begin to experience runners returning northbound. We have plenty of room in our lane if we will simply stay to the right, be aware, and not run more than two wide.

Additionally, with the track addition, we have a 1/2 mile less of the runner return zone while maintaining the total length of L-C Road.

Thank you in advance for staying to your right. Your experience will be greatly enhanced as you do.

New to the ROCC 5K? Here's a look at one of the flattest and fastest courses in the Triad. Mostly intact from our inaugural event in 2012, our course is the identical route marked out with our 2017 upgrades. A track lap, approximately two miles on Lewisville-Clemmons Road, and a downhill finish!

Come experience it for yourself on May 12. Register here:

If you did not run in 2017 - when we added the fan favorite track lap and moved the turn around to Agape Church - then you aren't aware of our new water aid station placement.

Located in the turn at the 2.25 mile mark, our team of volunteers will provide all the Primo water you need to make it to the finish line. They can also assist with any other needs that might arise, by way of communication with our medical team.

Thank you Primo Water, the official on-course water station sponsor of the ROCC 5K!

Your "Monday Morning Matching Mania" Update.

Thanks to two new sponsors and many of our runners and walkers who have generously donated, our 5K runner 'ROCCing Roada' has passed the 1K mark and well on her way to the 2K marker. We'll catch up with her again next Monday morning. Have a great week all.
