Reach had just one of those thriving days..
16 mini personal development sessions. 1 shared education session. All this along with business as usual in all our other schools with one-to-one mentoring!! #reachmentoring #multiculturalday #sharededucation #goodtimes
Today is about changes.
This is Maria , a pupil of St Ronan’s. We asked Maria what changes has Reach made to her life and wanted to share this with you all...
“I love coming to Reach because it helps me discuss issues going on in my life, I have loads of fun and it’s a time for me to just be myself with people I like”
We love Maria and the ray of sunshine she brings to a room when she enters it!! #reachmentoring
“Before mentoring I had no one to talk to about the anxiety I feel when in school. I would often feel anxious in assembly and class, often misbehaving so I would be told to leave. Talking this through with a mentor who I know does not judge me has really helped me. Reach is my favourite period of the week”
😍 (Reach Mentee) 😍
Check out the highlights of the big day below in our latest video!!
So thankful for over 1400 people that came out to support the great day - a lot of money was raised towards the work of Reach.
Just to remind you of what it was all for - please see the blurb below and feel free to get in touch with us if you want to know more about different ways of supporting this work....
Reach exists to journey alongside young people. We recognise that while growing up can be exciting and an adventure, it is also scary and obstacles can arise. For some young people it is easy to navigate through this process, but for others, that journey can be a little more turbulent. At Reach, we believe no young person should ever have to walk alone. Reach engages with young people who have behavioural issues, low self-esteem, a difficult home life and self-destructive behaviours. We match one of our skilled volunteers to meet one-to-one with young people to be a positive role model.
Reach mentors students in 22 schools in the Lurgan, Portadown and Craigavon area, delivering over 10,000 face-to-face contacts per year to over 300 young people. Our staff and volunteers are committed to journeying with the student and school for at least one term to continually review the mentee's progress and encourage them to be the best possible version of themselves. Reach is committed to praying not only for the pupils and mentees but also for the school staff. As we engage with schools, we also provide personal development classes. These classes help educate young people in areas of personal and social development, encouraging them to engage positively as active and global citizens and explore healthy lifestyle choices. Topics covered in these classes include Values, Online Footprint, Target Setting, and Changes.
Loved being part of this yesterday...

⭐️ Positive Mental Health and Awareness Event ⭐️
We had a brilliant day yesterday with Reach, StudySeed and Action Mental Health who led interactive workshops i...n school for all our Year 10 classes on study skills, coping with exam pressures and building resilience. Our Student Council, The Pupils’ Voice, worked hard organising this event to raise awareness of and promote positive mental health in our young people especially at stressful times like exams. We are very thankful for and appreciative of the time and input of Reach, Study Seed and Action Mental Health. They were impressed by the engagement, focus and behaviour of our pupils! Very positive feedback from our pupils who said they found the day fun and very helpful! Studyseed CIC Action Mental Health REACH Mentoring
