Choly Knight of Sew Desu Ne? is one of my favorite designers, and one of the most generous! Check out her blog and Etsy shop and enjoy this new book of tips she’s offering free. ❤️
All of my tutorial infographics are now in (a much easier to print) ebook .pdf form!
It's 42 pages ...and contains all the information from my plush sewing basics infographics, plus a little extra here and there because the new layout allowed me to spread out and add more information
I hope it's helpful to everyone!
And I'm open to suggestions for additions since it's much easier to make changes to -- just add another page! ♥
Even as they’re celebrating a big anniversary, Erica’s has announced that they’re going out of business. Maybe you’d like to have another visit or two, to their store in South Bend, IN, or to https://www.ericas.com. And please, always, support your local shops!
My daughter Patricia lives out of town. That is, 744 miles out of town. So when she wanted to learn how to put a gusset in a thrift-shop find for her cosplay adventures, we conducted a long-distance class via telephone and Internet. It worked!
That was the genesis for my first It's Sew Easy appearance in Season 14. It will be airing on itsseweasytv.com from noon today, March 30, until noon on April 6, 2018. I hope you'll have a look to discover - or rediscover - gussets. They're a versatile fitting tool that was probably more familiar to our grandmothers, in the days of fitted fashions and making clothes last longer.
For even more sewing ideas, you can explore the variety of pathways that lead to sewing with It's Sew Easy series 1000 on Create TV this month. You can enjoy the show each week on Thursdays at 6:00 am and 12:00 pm.
ICYMI: It's Sew Easy episode 1313 - and my favorite tuffet project - are airing again on itsseweasytv.com from today (3/16/18) at noon until noon on Friday, March 23. #itsseweasytv #brothersews #spoonflower #tuffetsource #makeitcoats
Here’s some great news for your weekend!
This is such a good, balanced article about the decision to close Free Spirit and Westminster fabrics, and about the quilting-fabric marketplace in general.
Machine embroidery friends, don’t you love these (and all of All About Blanks)? If you’re in East Tennessee, you’ll know exactly what Susan means about the weather, too!
I'm going to be excited about anything that's named "Cabana", because after day 9 of dreary, cloudy weather, that sounds amazing! Come see our new Cabana Colle...ction of canvas totes and cosmetic bags. LOVE the colors, LOVE the styles! Check out those gold fringe tassels!
I’ve pledged, and truly hope they make their goal!
Even if you can't contribute right now, share the campaign! It would be a fascinating exhibition catalog to see in print! Lots of textile history here, and for those who can't make it to an exhibition, the catalog is the Next Best Thing!
A few years ago I started traveling to New York City now and again (it might have something to do with a dear daughter moving there). I started reading about NYC's sights and history, including all the design work that goes into the subway system's stations, maps, and signage.
I haven't looked at those free subway maps the same way since.
On It’s Sew Easy episode 1309, airing from noon today (Friday, February 16, 2018) until noon on February 23 at itsseweasytv.com, I'll show you how to turn a paper map into a durable and useful tote bag. As a bonus, I talk about embellishing the map with your own handwriting and symbols like stars and arrows - all converted into stitches!
I’m stunned and so sad to hear this news!
”It is unclear at this time what will happen to designers who are currently under contract with Free Spirit some of whom are among the biggest names in the quilting industry including Tula Pink, Kaffe Fasset, Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner, and Denyse Schmidt, among many others. It’s also unclear at this time what will happen to the company employees.”
Dinner last night was a real treat, sharing laughs and ideas with Sew Much Cosplay’s Cheryl Sleboda, Michelle Paganoonoo Paganini, Londa Sewing Rohlfing, and the incomparable Angela Wolf. These women are amazing; I learned so much from them, and that was just at dinner!
I had a great trip to the It’s Sew Easy studio...even the snow was more lovely than troublesome. Now I’m tickled pink to be in one of Cheryl’s iconic selfies, and to have been part of Angela’s live broadcast yesterday.
Season 1500 of It’s Sew Easy is full of great ideas from the five of us and more, and it’s coming to a screen near you later this year. It’s the next best thing to being there!
