The word, requiem, in the context of my novel, Requiem for the status quo, refers to an act of remembrance as it relates to the subject matter of my novel. Remembrance of how a loved one was prior to Alzheimer's or other dementia taking over their lives; Remembrance of how the family caregiver's life has been forever changed when his or her new normal looks nothing like the predictable normal the caregiver previously enjoyed; and… [ 271 more words ]

The word requiem refers to an act of remembrance and the mourning that ensues as a result. A loved one with dementia changes in minuscule - and sometimes grand - ways on a daily basis. There is no cure for Alzheimer's, that is why REQUIEM FOR THE STATUS QUO is so relevant, although I sincerely wish....

My name is Norrms McNamara. Someone once told me having Lewy Body`s Type Dementia is like having two diseases, you HAVE Dementia, and you KNOW you have Dementia.... The same person, a Consultant, also told me that right up to the end of life, the person with Lewy Body’s will still have moments, if not hours/days of clarity. I lost both my Father and incredibly wonderful grandmother to Dementia. [ 502 more words ]

Brian is an amazing man who has early onset dementia. He has certainly become a passionate advocate for those such as himself. This is a very worthwhile endeavor.

I will turn 57 on April 10th. I usually do not announce my birthday on Facebook and I let it pass quietly. But... this year I have a purpose! For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to Faith2Care.org I recently just lost a friend to Alzheimer's and this year I have lost more than a few. I do not know how long I have, but with the time I have I am working WithALZmyHeart to help caregiver families through Faith2care.org and I am asking you to donate. With each family we help, we are also helping their loved one who may have some form of dementia, Parkinsons, ALS, Autism and the list is long. Help me help them. Please share this so we can raise awareness also! Thank you!! Oh... and follow me on Facebook.com/kursonis Continue Reading

Think of the last time you relied on a review - Amazon or otherwise - before you purchased a product. A book is a product, and the maker of that product is far more personal than a factory producing WiFi speakers. I covet your reviews of my novel, REQUIEM FOR THE STATUS QUO, especially if your last name isn't the same as mine.
