Okay, let's tell it like it is: Facebook is evil. The new "Protect" feature is actually designed to spy on how you use your smartphone.

I use Facebook only because members of my family communicate via Facebook almost exclusively. I do not use the Facebook app, however, opting for an alternative interface called Friendly.

My recommendation: If you have the Facebook app installed on your phone, uninstall it now. Use an app like Friendly (available for Android and iPhone), or use the Facebook mobile website at https://m.facebook.com/.
