To continue my outreach and understanding of impacts the drought is having in our region, I will be touring local businesses that rely on clean water supplies. This week I visited the Kikkoman Soy Sauce manufacturing plant and the Gekkeikan Sake factory in Folsom. Both chose to locate in our region for the clean abundant supply of surface water. Kikkoman’s facility here is only one of two in the U.S. and has been in the community since 1998. Gekkeikan’s factory has been here since 1989 and is only one of two Gekkeikan factories in the entire world.
