That we've had at the congressional level about how we aim or direct resources to make sure in the cove and space that we're being thoughtful about that and also uh at the at large, I know you and I have talked about um kind of what's going on in Coatesville and the opportunity is that it is that it represents as well as Redding uh and and all of those are I think very fair issues we are a little bit under a time crunch because we have until 515 apparently until FaceTime Facebook is no longer available to us. so I'm gonna wrap it up with one last question uh for the representative. To talk about and this question actually comes from a fellow RN from Caroline and she asks what can we do? What can I do as an RN to decrease the racial disparities in health care and thank you? Caroline for your question and I'm gonna hand this one over to Representative Underwood What I would say as a clinician is that we have an opportunity uh to do a complete assessment right so often in our interactions with patients uh we might just limit the assessment, but because we're all under a time crunch to physical um. Assessment questions but as we start to probe uh individual community members uh you know psycho social environments and you know what's going on in their lives. I mean people are willing to share um and as we get a more complete picture of the experiences of the patients that we serve, I think that you'll understand more how that health status um really as a manifestation of what's going on in some folks lives not all the time, but sometimes and it and it can. Illuminate opportunities for interventions whether you're connecting them with the resources in the communities um or taking a different type of approach that you know that patient and their family will be able to adhere to uh because of life circumstances. And so I think that um this is one instance, we're taking the time and actually investing time and listening and talking with our patients is something that's gonna definitely pay off. um unfortunately in our health care system, we don't always have the incentives to. Um and that's where my job and representative who's job comes in uh to make sure that we're not creating those incentives in our policy and that that's a beautiful way to sort of wrap things up because that when Vanessa and I met, we were meeting at a health facility there that does exactly that, which is very much about the holistic approach to the patient, frankly, regardless of color, gender or any other qualifier, which is to make sure that uh when a patient visits that their whole. Is taking care of and thought about um and then if they may have issues uh and I also uh working very hard on issues of mental health and I believe that we will have particularly acute issues about mental health because of the pandemic right. but when you're when you're have the opportunity to see a patient that you also have the opportunity to talk to the whole person uh that is presenting in front of you and that, in fact is what this facility that we were touring was talking about and as I mentioned this is independent of color. You know the fact that we should be talking uh. The whole person and taking care of the whole person is certainly important. I'm very grateful to the both of you guys for joining us today and I'm very thankful both of Vanessa and to Lauren for their very impactful discussion. It's really really crucial that we keep talking uh having these more difficult conversations to about what is systemic racism and all of its facets in our country. uh so that we can be a more perfect union and that we can promise happiness and justice and liberty to all so I hope in doing. And having these conversations, we're hopefully providing the tools and the conversation to do so, thanks very much for joining us today and see you next time. Thank you. Thank you for your courageous leadership. Thank you. Thank you.
