We're not going to let you roll the clock back on us. We are not going to accept smaller paychecks for equal work. 240 days ago. We passed the Paycheck Fairness Act and we passed a reason the minimum wage, which is a raise for one out of four American women when women succeed the American economy succeeds doing your job. Oh we're here with the message and it's very clear. Do your job. Mitch McConnell. We passed paycheck fairness bill last February. Let me just tell you it's very simple. premise men and women in the same job deserve the same pay as well. while we enjoy that benefit in the Congress and you do that in the Senate and the women of the Senate enjoy that benefit, let's make sure that every American woman. That opportunity they have been short changed for too many years they deal with rising prices and paychecks do not keep up with them. Let's make sure you respect women your trust women you recognize and contribute to that they make to our society. give them economic security pass the paycheck fairness bill do your job do your job Now. We're gonna close up our comments with one of the authors of violence against women, one of the amazing leaders so the women's caucus miss. Thank you very much. thank you so very much i am looking this when we have just say that i i i am able to be here with my colleagues but i am part i am said more ah a distinguish member of the house and please department man who is served for many many years or loose his life because the bounce against women act bill that has been written since twenty fifteen waiting for the send it act was that fans and he did is to responding to a domestic balance call seeing the perpetrator and the victim walking down the street it in He walked toward them a boyfriend who had a gun in the history of violence and as he walked toward that couple, the boyfriend turned and shot him seven times. He leaves a family. He leaves us hurting in Houston and I am delighted that Chief Acevedo with the President of the National chief said. This is a shame and a sham that this bill has not been passed and 290 - one million dollars languages that is there for police officers and prosecutors to save lives. We want life saved now this Leader of the Senate to be a leader in this time and save lives and do your job. Alright. Thank you. What are you doing? Oh? so I tell you this. What we're doing. Please don't fall. Yeah. Hey ladies listen up. Take off the Senate bill that bill to protect women advance. Same salary and adopting the King. It's been the case in the House of Representatives and in the Senate, and it's not the case at all. Great job Great Tyler Chances. We're here today because we want to do his job to vote on the post that we had set over here. We have out of the House. It's his term to do his job. Women Succeed America succeeds when women succeed. That's right and women succeed when Mitch McConnell does his job pass the bills that are so vital to family. whether it's the violence against Women Act pay equity, raising the minimum wage. It's time for these bills to come up her vote. Do your job. The health And everything and I'm here with my women colleagues in the House to taste, say to Senator McConnell said 400 bills today and the last one is convenient to deliver the violence against Women's act as well. We have shelters that everyone knows about that are losing money. they need to help women. There are women we have. action for peace of this time a message point Mitchell to do and to answer to the people of this country into Williams of the great. I'm sorry can you come up here right now. I'm sitting here right now what we want We want to respond and meanwhile, women across the country are dying at the hands of their abusers because they did not save violence against Women Act, which has always been a piece of legislation. Should not be installed in the Senate right now and the chief of police is useless that it so well, he was a member of his ticket. I spoke to that this week, so what did you say? what did she get as possible? So what did you? what was? I don't have insurance group in front of you by more than happy to send it to your arms? What did they say they gonna take it up a notch? We have passed this bill. All it simply says that men and women doing the same job. In the House of Representatives, that's the case in the United States, but American women are 80 cents on the dollar for African-American women in 80 -fourth in 60 - four cents and for Latinas, it is about 50 - three cents. It's wrong. It doesn't focus in on the economic insecurity that women and their families are facing today. We got in the past is by partisan. There is no reason no reason for us to hold up this bill in the Security for women in this country, we need Senator McConnell to pass this bill. It was overwhelmingly passed in the House. He can do it instead of me if he treats and has since January, we have made studied progress on behalf of the American people. We send a bill over and over again to the Senate for it to be deliberated and passed and that is what the American people expect for Congress to do for the House to do their peace. And for the Senate to take it up and that is truly what we are expecting and and the message that we want you to send to your boss. people will say that do nothing Democrats, but the reality is that every single day passing a critical legislation on behalf of the American people and they're coming to die here in the Senate and we wanna make sure that they survive for the well being of the American people. you know they are. thank you. Thank you so much. Bye. Senator Ernst Office can speak to that she spoke about it stick out this week. she's taking charge in the Senate. I would turn off take it off. No. I mean I would direct you to her office well well let's deal with the senator right now. you've covered a speaking since Republican senators go home in their districts. just like we do and they talked about the same issue. They're hypocrites for you to have bills over here and try to pond us off to another senator when we know, clearly everything starts at the top with. I don't wanna hear but a chairwoman or a person who wants to do. I wanna hear a day that he is going to do when we talk about women's rights and human rights and civil rights when we go home and we know people are still living in poverty when we go home and know this lack of affordable housing, but we know women aren't getting equal pay for equal work. So today we stand here and you can either tell us he's gonna give us an answer or we go back to our districts inside Accent again and again. We'll be happy to pass a message where he's not here right now. Where is this liberty dead on the ground in a Committee together? We'll be happy to pass this on. Thank you for coming by thank you. Because we have to do work the LGBT community. Senator We also need to address gun violence in this country. Yes, we do two common sense bills and I don't know if the Center knows, but he's playing politics with women's lives today. I'm gonna do a video. Okay. Final thoughts women We are leaders in our families who are leaders in our communities. We are designated elected leaders of this Congress and our voices will be heard today. We walked over to to instruct and to ask that this chair in the in the Senate, take up the bills and do his jobs. There's some other women who like to say some hijack we could. Well, I wanted to say that Senator McConnell is a plan politics with women's lives and he needs to stop him. We've done our job. women are waiting the country is waiting and we need to make sure that mister McConnell does his job. He has been missing in action. And I will say something about the violence against Women Act essentially told us to take this issue up with Senator Earth. it's my understanding that Senator Ernst has a different build in the bill that we passed the bipartisan bill that we passed out of the House and it does not it guts the Bella acts of violence against Women Act. We want the ballot that we passed in the House, the bipartisan bill to get on the floor of the Senate because women in this country deserve it. Let me also say that we have gun laws for gun reform over here. The House was very Progressive in responding to our community. so for women when we look at the number of mothers who lost their children, we look at the number of children who are living in poverty. When we think of the lack of affordable housing, we have bills over here and we would like to have an answer. We need an answer. Can I say something so the staff? On Helpfully said that we should talk to Joni Ernst because she has a bill are you kidding me? He calls himself the grim reaper for a reason because everything that has come over from the House is dead on arrival here, but he wants us twice upon us off one of the few women that are that are Republican women in the Senate and tell us to talk to her. She has no authority. This is about Mitch McConnell holding up over 200. Bipartisan bills and many of them deal with women and he is the one that has to set it free. Do your job. I don't know what you're talking about the paycheck fairness. Alright. Tell em Mitch McConnell to pass these bills for women. I have to tell you as many States Senate representing Michigan with my wonderful friends here, former House colleagues and my wonderful contribution Brenda Lawrence, Mitch just do your job. I want to say that we have heard that he's not gonna pass anything until much because of the impeachment. I think that's bogus and gives you the act now we needed and I think others available from Houston. Yes got to come out and say that he's wrong. He's wrong. Not passing the bill. Thank you. Thank you. I just like to add me with just informed that we weren't allowed to take any films. Indiana Senator Mitch McConnell's Outer office that this was a rule. Senate These House belongs to the people of the United States. You knew we were coming and we were received in the Outer office. I believe we have a right to film our petition to Mitch McConnell to move bills of vital importance to the women of this country, including the Pay Fairness Act of Violence against Women's Act and you know women occupied the lowest paying jobs in our country. If we don't have a right to advocate them for them when the Trump administration is. Cut over 700000 working people who are the majority of women that both of the supplements because of the low wage jobs, which they work. What kind of a party is Mitch McConnell Associated with we are here to educate and I wanna thank Congressman Brenda Lawrence Congresswoman Lois Frankel Congresswoman Congresswoman Jackie Speier of business that we are proud to be here on behalf of all the United States. This is we don't want to shout out. We are there every day. Just say that it is not fair the responsibility of Central responsibility. It's all of these bills that run the gamut and support of women and the American people have passed by the House and all bottled up simply because he doesn't want to act That's on America and so it is time for him to take on. Leadership that he promised to be a leader and get this American business done. This is not the last you will hear from us, The Democratic Women's Caucus. We are here we are. we are amazed that we have over A hundred women in Congress and I wish will be heard. Mitch McConnell do your job.
