I introduced legislation today that would ensure public access to the summit of Rattlesnake Mountain, a beautiful scenic viewpoint located on the Hanford Reach National Monument. The summit of Rattlesnake Mountain provides unparalleled views of the National Monument, Hanford and the Columbia River that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy. This is about making sure that land the American people own is accessible to them, especially since the only way to appreciate the entire National Monument is from this vantage point.

Despite what the President led the country to believe in his State of the Union address, the Obama Administration's budget numbers prove that they have no intention of opening up new areas for offshore energy exploration, exploration that would create thousands of new American jobs.
