Right now. the Federal Government Congress, the administration, tech companies and social media platforms need to be doing everything we can and they can to stop this constant spread of violent extremism, disinformation, terror and hate online group. We are sounding the alarm on Twitter actively allowing Hezbollah and Hamas twoG hottest terrorist organizations determined to kill Americans and our allies. We're calling on them to take down the thousands and hundreds of thousands of followers that are online right now following Hezbollah and Hamas and encouraging the spread of terror. Haspel is a group that is an arsenal of some 130000 rockets and missiles currently aimed at Israel and Hamas is responsible for the deaths of dozens of Americans well known for firing rockets and digging terror tunnels into Israel using Gazans, including. Children as human shields Hamas Hezbollah in the region have killed thousands has blown. In fact, it's killed more Americans than any other terrorist group saved Al-Qaeda, Twitter said in a letter sent to us late last month. And I quote there's no place on Twitter for terrorist organizations, violent extremist groups or individuals who affiliate with and promote their illicit activities and quote. They quote make limited exceptions for groups with representatives who have been elected to public office through elections. As is in the case with parts of Comas and Hezbollah. that's right in black and White. Twitter laid out their terrorist sympathizing policy for Anti-American militant Gyros groups. Twitter said they draw distinction between political and military factions of these terrorist organizations. Well, we violently degree terrorist groups are terrorist groups and that's what US law says just like Al-Qaeda and Isis. The US State Department has designated both as foreign terrorist organizations. That means that under US law, Americans and US companies may not knowingly quote provide material support or resources to FTO to foreign terrorist organizations that the Secretary of the Treasury may require US financial institutions to block all transactions involving assets of a designated foreign terrorist Organization. There is simply no reason why terrorist organizations like Hamas has blah deserves access to Twitter. Base in platform to promote themselves and sponsors of violent radical hate-filled extremism, so we demand that by no later than November, first Twitter comply and follow US law immediately change their policies and cut off. All handles affiliated with Hamas has blood and all foreign terrorist organizations right here next to me is a photo. a husband affiliated Twitter account posted just last month and yes. Tweet is still up displaying the terrorist organization's new missile. The Hezbollah activist said that it's capable of destroying all military battleships, killing all who were on board again. that is a tweet that is up right now just posted by a foreign terrorist affiliated Organization, and this is just the start. For some reason, Twitter is a year to provide a platform for affiliates of these terrorist groups like the has Bill television Station Almond bar, which was added to the US Treasury. Specially Designated Global Terrorist Entity list in 2006, Well on Twitter, the propaganda television service has more than 480000 followers, and Hamas has an active English language tour account, which advertises itself as the official account of Hamas movement with nearly a hundred thousand followers. Dorsey, if you believe that Twitter is better at determining violent extremism content and terrorist content than the US government, then I urge Mister Dorsey and Twitter to come testify before Congress and explain why they know better than the United States government in determining what is a terrorist Organization. And what isn't because right now, you are complicit and allowing known foreign terrorist organizations to threaten American lives, the lives of our allies and our National security and our democracy. And here is evidence number one this bipartisan. Today is calling on Twitter to clean up its act. The stand with us in the global fight against terror stand with us to keep our nation state in the greatest country in the world. We must all stand together. Okay. The most likely threat that we face today is that of a self radicalized terrorist. In the United States of America, self radicalized on social media platforms, these social media groups, Twitter especially have a responsibility to each and everyone of us to help keep America safe. But right now what they are doing is they are choosing profits over patriotism profits over National security share holder value over protecting Americans, innocent Americans from terrorism. We are focused on this issue now for the better part of a year. social media companies are making progress, but what they have clearly stated is that they have a facility to the goal through the gifts CPT as well as other channels to get any entity listed on the FTO list off of their platforms. But now we see Twitter woefully disregarding that established responsibility and it is not okay and we will not let it stand. So thank you again. I'll never forget the lessons of 911 when you see terrorism when you see extremism such as displayed in this poster to my right, you have to call it out and you need to step forward and kiddos to Max Rose and Josh Gottheimer for standing with us. Republican Democratic bipartisan basis to say you know what Twitter you got this wrong and we're gonna call you out. I'll start with the good news. Good news is when we contacted Facebook and Google, they recognize that foreign terrorist organizations that are spreading hate violence and a message of killing Americans and people around the world that they wanted no part of Twitter. Now back to us and had the audacity to declare that Hezbollah and Hamas have a right to their platform because somehow there's good people in Hamas and Hezbollah that should have the right to express their message of hate and violence around the world as well as in here in America. that is wrong. That is not right. Let's be very clear Twitter. you're standing with a terrorist Organization you are supporting. A terrorist Organization, Hamas and Hezbollah, and if Twitter is supporting a terrorist Organization such as Hamas and Hezbollah, every American out there should say, hell, no, are we gonna participate with such an Organization such as Twitter, and that is why they should join with us and demand that Twitter take down. This extremism take down this message of hate and bio once this will lead to the deaths of Americans and other people across the world and what we're doing here today is to send a message to Twitter. You have a short window of opportunity to do the right thing. Follow your colleagues in Facebook and Google and stand with the United States government. Stand with the representatives in the People's House of the House of Representatives and send the message to these terrorists organizations that when you. To spread your message of hate your message of violence, you will not use the platform of America's freedom of expression to put that forward as a business model model. As Twitter has chosen to do. and so Twitter, you got a simple choice, stand and brand yourself with Hamas and Hezbollah or stand with us. Oh to terrorism. Thank you.
