While far from perfect, the Iran nuclear deal was negotiated in good faith by a broad coalition of our allies and moved us towards the shared goal of keeping Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Prior to this agreement, Iran had the capability to produce a nuclear weapon in three months or less; today, thanks to the agreement, it would take them at least one year to develop that same weapon. Today, we heard President Trump offer a great deal of criticism of the Iran agreemen...t, but absolutely no solutions to fill the void left by exiting the deal. President Trump’s reckless decision has increased the risk of instability and violence in an already volatile region, and has left the world vulnerable to the threat of a nuclear Iran.
