Hello Central Valley I wanted to let you know that I just cosponsored vital legislation introduced today to protect one of our nation's most valuable resources and one of the greatest gifts our nation gives to its citizens our public lands Today's legislation fully funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund Now the Land and Water Conservation Fund is a federal program that land owners and communities can tap to protect our outdoor spaces so they can be enjoyed for generations to come. You might not have heard of it before but the fun has already been used to expand and improve beautiful parks enjoyed by your own family and these include Kings Canyon Sequoia National Parks Pixley National Wildlife Refuge Heritage Park in Lemoore and the Hanford Sports Complex Now this year the administration proposed cutting the fund by 95 percent and that's unacceptable especially considering the fund doesn't cost taxpayers a dime. So my colleagues and I we took action We put forward a bill that will ensure future funding is not subject to political games or the whims of any President And so, I'd be grateful for your comments and please let me know what spaces in your own community would benefit from this protection.
