Wait I'm not talk about these members of Congress are gonna play ball game just couple of hours to spite his tragedy the Gates of National and that's Park will be opening soon members of Congress we've got Democrats we've got Republicans uh they will square off in this legendary charity game so I have with me congressman from from each team Republican I representative Jack bergman and Republican Thomas slow z swazi forgive me dad I'm not your demographic and I would you have a nice Washington he gentlemen that you're at the Republican gentleman for you forgive me I'm melting um here we know what he re about it so first of all the decision I wanna ask about the game and in a couple of hours but the fact that we've heard from from the President himself who saw Steve last night um he said specifically that he's been uh this whole thing has been much more difficult on school lease and people thought going to be okay we hope do we know any more about the congressman's police I love you in the short answer is no but he is in the hands of the best medical professionals in the world and when you have a room like he had it requires multiple stages that he's under the best care in the world I went to a bipartisan prayer breakfast this morning is a non denominational prayer breakfast and there's these tees facing a tough time and we're all praying form and we pray to God that the he in the doctors take care of me this baseball game was a moment in either of year it's minds that thought maybe we shouldn't play never I've I'm excited we're playing I'm happy we're playing I'm scared but I'm more scared I'm not gonna get hit that's what I'm worried about and I'm gonna get to many hit ha and the reality is for those of us who have been practicing dems and Republicans it's been a great adventure for me as or as a freshman on the baseball team I love to say that it's okay right into were freshman were freshman and the idea to be able to go out there on a professional field to represent this case our parties but more importantly tonight to represent unity in America we were saying earlier I had something like a 600000 dollars have been raised prior to this and now you were saying how much money we've been told it's up over a million six selling 500 tickets every hour I mean the game was exciting for us and for people who are paying attention before this all happen now just taking on a whole new meaning this is this is a chance for us to demonstrate how much we love our country and how much we're gonna try to cut work together you are yesterday we talked yesterday and you were telling me about how everyone was headed into the their baseline dug out to seek shelter from from the gun shot have you had a moment to talk to either of those Capitol police officers just to say thank you is the short answer is no because obviously want they've been on their own recovery right now and we will talk to them and as soon as we can get face to face what would you say thank you and I love you I'm the baseball glove tell me about it the baseball glove we hope is in route the club is 50 years old this year the last time I use that in baseball I was a junior in College it's part of me it just like a rifle is part of a Marine I don't I don't go to the go to the game without it spend part of the crime scene but you're hoping to have it by seven oh five watch they follow Congress and it's all the bickering and it's the lack of stability all kinds of conversations people been having what what does tonight symbolizing how can we take this music to move forward you know I am a freshman Jackson freshman maybe I'm missing something but I have found my colleagues on the Republican side as well the Democratic side to be incredibly simple I've had a great relationship with a lot of College but on both sides out think of including Jack and uh I think that you know when we get outside and we watch television and listen to radio and social media it deteriorates um I think that this is a a special time in history that people are so sick of politicians and politics they want to get stuff done and this is a chance for us to take that fertile ground and really trying to come together and trying get things done conscience pozzi I could I don't answer that please we as members of the freshman class Democrat Republican signed a commitment to civility that's right it is did did not make a high enough priority in news we are saddened by that in the short term but in the long term our commitment is a freshman class to say you know what we're new here at the bottom line is where gonna set standards and we will need some gardening thanks just was me thank you so much thank you so much good luck everybody grab that glowing on alright baby I
