As someone who has limited mobility going to music venues can be a challenge if not impossible at times. The rescue rooms could not have been more accommodating or helpful. The stored my wheelchair aw...ay securely and placed a stool right near the stage (but in a safe place). The security guard (tall guy with a shaved head) asked where we wanted to stand and made sure we made our way in before the crowds. I would defiantly go there again and recommend it to anyine with limited mobility. Thank you for making live music accessible. See More

Having attended the Square One first birthday at Rescue Rooms on Friday, I feel it necessary to alert you to some areas of development for your security personnel, which became apparent that evening.
After arriving at the venue, me and a friend queued for approximately 20 minutes, during which time we struggled to find her ticket on her emails. When we reached the security, we still hadn't found it, and asked if we could stand on the other side of the barrier, and rejoin the queue once we had located the ticket. When we did find the ticket, we asked to resume our place in the queue, to which one of them said 'nah, you've pissed us about now, go to the back of the queue'.

I'm not quite sure if this gentleman adopts a different definition of 'pissing about' to the general populous, but at most, this would be characterised as a minor inconvenience. We were then required to queue for another 20 minutes, which resulted in us arriving in the venue 5 minutes before the end of 2 of our friends sets. (It might be helpful to interject here that my friend and I had travelled from Sheffield and Bristol respectively, for this particular event)

Just as patrons of music venues are encouraged to leave their egos at the door, I think it would be prudent to advise members of your security staff to do the same. Maybe this was a severe case of little man syndrome...who knows? But it resulted in me parting with some cash behind the bar to relax a bit before I could enjoy the night. (Perhaps this is all part of your cunning plan to maximise bar revenues!)

Overlooking the aforementioned issue, this was an excellent venue, and the members of security inside the venue exemplified professionalism. I hope to return, but if I have to tolerate either of these prickly individuals, I may weep.

I came to the Rescue Rooms last night with some friends to see The Quireboys…..

They were fabulous, as were the support band, what a cracking band....

But I have to also say a word or two about the fantastic Rescue Rooms staff……

The folks in the door security team and the bar team were exceptional. Such lovely, friendly people.

From the moment we walked in, it was obvious we were going to have a fantastic night.

Well done, Rescue Rooms, a definite 5 stars from me.

The place is poor for viewing on a busy night unless you're around the front of the balcony or at the front or are 7 feet tall, you will have a job getting to the bar when busy and forget the merch Also Mop the floors ffs! See More

Usually a good idea to have the door staff in place before doors due to open, not over half an hour later. And don't close the balcony an hour after you've let customers in, because you apparently hav...en't sold enough tickets to warrant it being open. Have been to the venue many times in the past and always had a good time - this was piss poor though. See More

Great little music venue, multi story carpark ( Talbot st just a couple of minutes walk away from the venue)
Bar snacks - of the student variety I would say , we had cheesy chilli and chips. and tasty
Outside seating area for those wanting to smoke. Nice bar friendly staff and drinks reasonably priced
Balcony in the actual gig room so great views even if you are vertically challenged like me

A great venue with a couple of outdoor areas to chill out at, and city-central.
Good drinks offers and good atmosphere. Staff were helpful.
Wednesday night is great quiz from 8 pm the Karaoke here is ...great for the younger and sociable and club-minded people, 11pm -3am.
The main area was cooking hot, the projector even shut down a few times overheating, and the cable mics could be a risk as the area gets packed, with traffic and dancing to singers, but that being said, all else was great.

DJ Mat & Kieran were good, clear and fair.
Good sound system, gets a great regular crowd, so be part of the karaoke-Krowd 🎤
Great mid week late one to check out. Come and join us next Wednesday, be early to get name on long list.

Gread venue and good to have pass out/chill out areas - staff are good and friendly if you appreciate they have a rather difficult job to do when dealing with so many people in ‘party mode’😊 Living Co...lour gig was an example of rock comraderie and (generallly) decent behaviour🎸🎸Cheers🍻 See More

Been to numerous gigs at this place over the years, mostly of a Metal nature. Never had any problems and the sound quality has always been top notch. Only issue is the 10pm curfew which generally mean...s an early start. Give it a try. See More

Definitely Oasis! Great gig, great venue. Reasonable prices on the beer and a great view where ever you stand.
It's essentially a long, wide room with a stage and a PA system.
Love it!

Love the venue but 2 things i noticed...
1. No bag checks which some people would like but for safety reasons may be a good idea.
2. No cloakroom
Security/door people were nice

Plenty of good reviews and a lot of hype out there for Sunflower Bean with new album Twentytwo in Blue out this week. Very excited to have them playing here on Saturday. Join us:

The N.Y.C. trio discusses its open-hearted new rock record, Twentytwo in Blue.

EMP!RE are a five piece rock band from the South West of England, formed in early 2012.

After putting out a low key self released EP, 'Birth' in late 2012 to give early and eager fans a taste of things to come, some great reviews followed from the likes of Rhythm magazine “EMP!RE have found an incredible chemistry... the sound of a band that has quickly become a well oiled tune spewing machine.”, Total Guitar and Afro Punk, where EP track ‘All The Rage’ was rated as one of th...eir Top 10 best songs of 2012.

Determined to raise the bar, EMPIRE recorded their debut Mini Album 'Where the World Begins in 2013 with Chris Coulter (Arcane Roots, Trails, A Plastic Rose) and released to critical acclaim in October 2013. This album captures the sound of a band finding their collective voices, working together to create a strikingly anthemic sound. Vitriolic and exciting in equal measure, the hooks stick like glue.

Following the arrival of the mini album 'Where the World Begins', EMP!RE have released two singles, 'Black Hearts' and 'Future, Past and Present’. The latter resulting in being in the Scuzz most wanted chart, whilst receiving extensive airplay on radio, including being Band of the week on TeamRock Radio.

'The best new voice in Rock' - Kerrang! ‘Forget Genres: EMPIRE are weird enough to appeal to everyone’ Metal Hammer ‘It’s easy to see why this lot is causing such a buzz' Big Cheese ‘You’ll be hard pressed to find a better vocal performance on record this year’Rock Sound ‘Sharp riffs, anthemic fist raisers, and of course, the virtuosic vocals’ Afro Punk

Since then, EMP!RE have moved from strength to strength, releasing single 'Patchwork and Bone' along with B-Side 'Truth In Your Eyes' both premiered exclusively to Kerrang Magazine, among other radio and TV outlets. This single was the catalyst for their biggest headline tour to date in February 2015 covering 18 venues across the whole of the UK. The festival's continued to roll in towards the summer with the mainstage at Takedown Festival, along with a packed out 3rd Stage at Download Festival in June 2015
