The fireplace suite is the only way to go! With a king size bed in one room and a pullout couch in the living room, it’s perfect for a couple or small family. (Bigger families could add an adjoining r...oom.) On a budget? Splurge on the suite and then bring your own groceries–suites are stocked with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, silverware, cookware and even a toaster. Once you’re done enjoying the views by the fire, throw on your robes (they’re standard in every room but sometimes you need to ask housekeeping) and head to the hot tubs or take a dip in the heated pool. Seriously, it’s warm! Pro tip: the locker rooms for the fitness center have a steam room, sauna, and spa-grade amenities. The breakfast buffet is to die for but the other restaurants are basic and/or overpriced with slow service, so take the complimentary shuttle to the Village, where they have sushi, pizza, pub food and adorable shops. If you’re up for activity, there are great biking and hiking trails along the river that offer stunning views. (There’s also skiing and golf, but I haven’t tried either.) If you prefer to read or play games, head to the lobby where the giant wood burning fireplace is always lit and the flavored water is icy cold. The chairs and couches are plenty and comfy, and there is no better view of the valley! They even have chess and checkers boards for your use. To be sure the lobby pairs nicely with any wine, and they offer several nice varieties at the on-site deli. Once you’re spent for the day, the beds are firm but comfortable and the linens are crisp and clean. Bonus: I have never had an issue with noise, but I always bring earplugs just in case. All hotel walls are a bit thin. Only downside: the shower head is pretty basic and the water temperature fluctuates at times. But other than that, I have not a single complaint! See More

This hotel has beautiful views, great access to a ski lift and wonderful swimming pools. The fireplace suites are wonderful. The regular hotel rooms are a little small with not much counter space but include a mini fridge, good beds and linens. The door to the hall does very little for soundproofing but I don't hear the people upstairs. I really enjoy the breakfast buffet which is $26 per person. I've been coming here for years but this year had an unfortunate situation where the self-parking was totally full all weekend and so I had to pay a $40 a DAY valet parking fee. It's a difficult place for people with mobility issues to stay because the rooms are quite a walk from the lobby. The lobby is wonderful with a fireplace and comfy chairs to lounge in. Sweet Potatoes Deli seems really overpriced. Sandy's Pub has a pretty good menu and great views. There are nice trails to the Truckee River. Overall, a good experience. See More

I cannot sing enough praises about the Resort at Squaw Creek! We just returned from a five night much-needed family vacay. We had seven adults and four children ranging in ages from 2 - 12. They trea...ted us like we were family.

The staff is absolutely outstanding on every single level. The grounds were immaculate; they were beautifully kept and maintained. The views from every angle are simply breathtaking. We stayed in two, two bedroom suites; which was perfect for our family. The accommodations were luxurious yet very comfortable. The restaurants were all delicious - and we ate a lot! The breakfast buffet at Cascades was so good and the servers were so welcoming and sweet! My daughter who's two years old took to the kindest servers named Michael and Heidi. On top of them entertaining her while we enjoyed breakfast, they went above and beyond by surprising her with "Tahoe Tessie" and fresh milk and cookies when we got back to our room. ♡ Sandy's, the resort's onsite pub became like a second home for our group :-) The food is outstanding, but the service from the bartenders, staff and manager was even better. Additionally, my brother was celebrating his birthday while we were there and the front desk sent up a lovely card and bottle of vodka to his room.

Executive Chef, Chris at Six Peaks; the fine dining restaurant was amazing, personable and gave my brother, who's also a chef a tour of their kitchen.
Olivia, the assistant GM, squeezed us in to the restaurant when they were slammed. Shawn, the awesome resident bartender took incredible care of us throughout our stay.

Although we didn't get the snow we hoped for, we can't control mother nature. Other than that, it was the most delightful family trip we've ever had! We can not wait to come back!

I stayed at this resort over the weekend for my birthday and it was incredible! The employees were so kind and truly went above and beyond to ensure I had the best birthday! Upon arrival, a bottle of and a birthday card was waiting for me, signed by the front desk team. My boyfriend and I enjoyed hot stone massages and when we came back to the room a happy birthday dessert was waiting for me in the fridge! Sandy's pub is a blast, the steak house is divine, and the breakfast buffet is a must. I highly recommend this resort! See More

We loved the resort and especially Tam who did our craft cocktail pairing class! A must at this resort! Room was awesome - skiing was awesome all the amenities and staff were fantastic. The only dow...nside is Sandy’s Grill... the entire staff after two visits were completely in attentive, rude and the least helpful. See More

I was a first-time visitor to Squaw Creek. Stayed 4 nights and thought it was absolutely a lovely place. Had a facial and a Swedish massage that were both done well. My only complaint is the qualit...y of the toilet paper and the Kleenex. I was telling a friend that I broke a nail while at the resort and forgot to bring an emery board with me, but the Kleenex was so scratchy I was able to improvise and use the Kleenex to smooth my nail. Of course, I’m exaggerating, but not by much! For the price you pay to stay, those two items could be of better quality. Overall, great place. See More

We have never stayed at the rooms here but we have heard good things. I can attest to the quality of the spa which is excellent. Many of the masseuses that we have had also work in San Francisco. I...f you go also take advantage of the hot tub and workout facility privileges. See More

The Resort at Squaw Creek is my favorite place to relax and get away from the daily routine of living and working. Everything is right here. The spa, the pools, the ski lift, ski rentals, the restaura...nts and if I choose to venture further out, Tahoe City, Truckee and the Village are only a few minutes away! See More

At first glance, this place is beautiful. And it was; beautiful scenic views. However, the service was absolute garbage. This resort will likely continue to book because they rely solely on the nic...e views and conveniences it has to offer. But again, service was terrible. I booked a king bed and got double queen beds, ok fine. No biggie. Then our room was dirty with a giant soaking wet towel in the fridge when we arrive. The daily "cleaning" they did was laughable. Again, fine. They messed up multiple people's rooms in our party and everyone was getting very frustrated. We asked twice to please leave the games out on the lawn so we could play when we come back for dinner. "Okay sure we will make sure of that". Get back, games are packed up. They even double booked an event on my sister-in-law's wedding day and moved the cocktail hour to another location. Do not recommend this place at all. See More

Room was okay but outdated. Room service is the deli it seems everything outside of normal hours is the deli. Very odd to pay that much for a resort room and not have room service available 24/7. Roo...m service limited to a delay isn't what we expected. See More

This was our first visit, on the recommendation of my sister. We came to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We LOVED it! The grounds and the valley setting are beautiful. So much to do, between swimming..., hiking, and taking the shuttle to the aerial tram to High Camp. The restaurants are a little on the expensive side but very good. We loved that we could just stay put and not have to drive anywhere. We happened to mention to the concierge that it was our anniversary, and she had chocolates and prosecco sent to our room. We are already thinking about our return visit. See More

My husband and I decided to have a quick weekend getaway. We had a great time. Loved relaxing in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine. Our suite was very nice and the perfect size. I did arrang...e with concierge for a welcome basket to be in our room, massages for two, dinner reservations for Silver Peak, and a snowmobile tour. The welcome basket never arrived so I had to go to the desk on our way to dinner and they were quick to rectify this. Our dinner reservations were there and we had wonderful service by Heidi with excellent food. Our snowmobile tour had to be cancelled due to a severe storm but they gave a complete refund and we will plan it for next time. Our massages however were never booked. Luckily they had openings that morning and accommodated us. The spa was wonderful. Nick was professional and amazing. I've had many massages but this was truly the best massage I've had. He kept the pressure just as I wanted throughout the entire treatment. This made up for no reservations being arranged. We also stopped by the Double Diamond jewelry store and met with the owners Janet and Mark. I walked away with a beautiful bracelet and a wish list. Very friendly people. We will definitely be back for a summer visit and recommend all services this resort has. The only reason for 4 not 5 stars was the welcome basket and spa reservations being missed which could have been disastrous. They recovered well and made up for it with great service. See More
