We didn't win an award this year, but we did well considering all the difficulties we had this year and at the competition. Kudos to Pat (our new driver) for driving on the new track in downtown Detroit this year! Here's a clip of the action during a practice run!

Classic passed through technical inspection yesterday and we were running it on the track today. Unfortunately, we've had problems with the chain tensioner. Hopefully we'll be a one hit wonder tomorrow! Wish us luck!
We're waiting to get a new tire on the truck. Everyone else is using the downtime to get some homework done at the Hilton
We were on the way to Detroit for the Shell Eco Marathon and it was a smooth ride until we were 30 min from the Detroit when our truck's front passenger side tire blew out, which was hauling our large RHEV trailer. We pulled over to the shoulder and spent the next solid 3 hours on the side of the road. We called AAA and had them switch out the blown tire with a spare tire. Unfortunately, the AAA guy put the tire and left. Shortly after, with the help of Michigan DOT (Kyle! aw...esome guy) found out that the spare didn't hold air very well. It was getting very late and after talking with Kyle about our options. Kyle mentioned that downtown Detroit isn't a safe area (he got mugged a few times and once 2 pm in the afternoon). Rather than risk getting another blowout and possibly put everyone on the team in a dangerous situation, we decided to take the nearest exit and find a hotel.

In the background, we have a bunch of people working on the engine and doing CAD designing. We're planning to do field testing out at Terre Haute's Airport in a couple of weeks!
We finally got the 35cc successfully running on fuel injection!!!
14 people showed up on the 2nd RHEV Saturday Workday!
We've done a lot today: SolidWorks CAD for classic body, basic aerodynamic simulation in SolidWorks, electrical system circuit schematic in Cadence Allegro Design Entry CIS, plasma cut custom parts for the engine, and fuel injecting the 35cc! Here's a picture of Jacob, Ben, and Anna while the 35cc was running in the background.
