The goats are back and are (mostly) hard at work eating up all the extremely harmful garlic mustard that has invaded our forest in spots. This was Sunday night when all the goats decided to take a break from munching delicious garlic mustard and were found vying for position on one very long fallen tree. :) Goat Dispatch
Another video of the flooding happening here! This was taken right off of Owl trail. If you watch closely you can see where Trout lily trail use to intersect with Owl but is now completely flooded

I walk about the nature center almost every weekend! It's a great place to excersize and experience nature, and a great place to bring your family if you don't want to travel too far to see the out doors.

I have been visiting the River Bend Nature Center for going on 11yrs now. It is my families home away from home. Its very peaceful. All the different trails make it great for hiking. We go there so much I swear the deer know our vehicle and pose for pictures.

I love the nature center I not only go there to walk with my family and dogs, but I also love taking family photos there. I go all throughout the year, I grew u...p in Faribault and have had so many great visits. There are numerous beautiful areas to take great pictures and just enjoy your surroundings.

From the teepee they set up to the view of the river. No matter the time of year you can't beat a visit to the nature center (did I mention it's free to visit and park). They have a wonderful main building with toys, mounts, exhibits, books and live animals for children and adults to enjoy.

You can hike, bike, walk, cross country ski, snow shoe. Watch the turtles in the turtle pond, spot a deer, or watch the goats clear out the over growth.

Even join them at Halloween or during the holiday season for either a dog sled ride or horse drawn sleigh ride. Also watching them when they make maple syrup. They host so many different public events. I'd suggest liking them on their Facebook page and following their events.

They even have a serene overlook with engraved bricks you can purchase in memory of a loved one (or any reason you would like). My family has one for my brother, Ben Smith, and I love stopping by to see it when I'm there.

I can't recommend a visit to the Riverbend Nature Center enough. In the evenings you can hear the drum ceremony coming from near by and it's really beautiful on a evening stroll. I could go on and on, but I hope you visit and make your own memories.

River Bend has 743 acres of beautiful mixed habitat, 10 miles of trails for walking, running, skiing, biking, etc., and amazing environmental and outdoor educat...ion programs for kids and adults. It's a wonderful place for family outings or a peaceful stroll, and there are fun events scheduled throughout the year. The Interpretive Center is definitely worth a visit for its exhibits and live animals. See More
