COURTESY POST. MDOT WORK TODAY.
Our RCOC crews are already out and will continue to work extended shifts to address road issues that have been reported.
UPDATE! Eight Mile Road is now open between Chubb and Napier. Drive safely!
Eight Mile Road between Napier and Chubb roads remains closed to traffic. There is still quite a bit of water over the road.
Another warning, if you blow around the barricades and road closed signs, a Sheriff Deputy is handing out tickets like they are Halloween candy. Many motorists who managed to get around the barricades had to be towed out along with being issued a hefty ticket. We have it b...locked because it is not safe until the water recedes and road repairs can be made.
We want to thank everyone who has not tried to go around the barricades.
One last piece of advice, arguing with the Deputy about the need to blow around the barricades is not recommended. Yes, this has been happening along with some horrible language.
We will keep you posted.
(Update on 2/23 @ 12:50 p.m.)

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) advises drivers to use caution on gravel roads during the upcoming weeks. ...
Rain mixed with snow melt on many of the nearly 760 miles of gravel roads in Oakland County is causing soft conditions in many areas. The rain has also contributed to washout-like conditions, especially in hilly areas.
“We are doing everything we can to maintain the gravel roads,” explained RCOC Managing Director Dennis Kolar. “However, despite our best efforts, heavy rains combined with already saturated conditions could lead to some unstable roads.”
In addition to possible washouts and soft areas, roads could be very bumpy as result of the weather.
Culverts under driveways to businesses and homes should also be cleared of leaves and debris to assure that storm water will properly flow through ditches and reduce potential for road flooding. “It’s important for motorists to be on the lookout for water over the road regardless of whether they are driving on a paved or gravel road,” Kolar added.
RCOC crews continue to do everything possible with available resources, including 19 graders, to address the gravel roads throughout Oakland County. To report any gravel road issues, call 877-858-4804 or contact RCOC on-line at: https://www.rcocweb.org/For…/Contact-Us-4/Contact-Us-Form-43

Additional days will be shared as they are updated.

I-75 between 12 Mile and Coolidge, SB is being done first, followed by NB.

Drive with caution, the rain and snow melt have the potential to cause ponding of water on roadways.
A warm front will become stationary across central Lower Michigan tonight. Rain showers will increase coverage again during the night and will be heavy at times..., especially north of I-69 near the stalled front, before shifting southward during Tuesday. A few embedded thunderstorms will also be possible. Total rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches can be expected with locally higher amounts possible. Rain and snowmelt will lead to ponding of water on roadways and low lying areas as well as minor river and stream flooding by Tuesday night into Wednesday.
