Thank you so much to our community for making the 2016 Christmas Parade a success. All of your entries were wonderful. For photos of the parade visit rrspin on facebook or the web. We will try to post some additional photos tomorrow. It's been a long day! Thanks to our community, Parks and Recreation staff, Jet Thomas, police, public works, all other city staff and associated organizations that help make this happen. Also thanks to our sponsors to include GW Hux and Co. Insurance, the Angel's Closet, The Computer Guy, MJ Price Construction, White Motors, and Wesley's Housing Center. And thanks to our Grand Marshall Kathleen Robinson for all you do in our community!

City Administration officials are aware of the unfounded rumors regarding potential protests planned during the City’s annual Christmas parade this Sunday.
The City administration has taken steps to insure the parade is conducted in the outstanding manner it is known for, while insuring sufficient safety measures are in place for the event.
It is the City’s intent to have the Christmas parade that everyone can enjoy in the holiday spirit it is intended to represent, while keeping everybody safe from potential risks, as has always been done for every Christmas parade and City events.
The City hopes that everyone will respect the fact that the Christmas parade this year is honoring Wendy Tickel and her class of exceptional children as the parade’s Grand Marshalls.

Here are some pictures from the radio station this morning as we proudly announce Wendy Tickel and her class as the Grand Marshals of the 2014 Roanoke Rapids Christmas Parade!
