Did management change this year? Was ok, was more of a food truck day. Nothing wrong with that! I just remember more ice cream before. Was looking for that Mexican ice cream place but don't think the...y were there this year. Seems to have changed from an ice cream festival. Still a good picnic! Maybe time for a name change or to get more ice cream vendors. See More

We went today and had a great time! The shuttle was very easy and quick. Our kids had a blast and we even got to bring our dog! Plenty of food choices and drinks too!

The kids really loved meeting a...ll the characters and breaking boards at the Karate tent! (And of course the ice cream) See More

It's was pretty good. No real lines yesterday. Music was nice. I agree that the charge to get in and then pay on top is a bit much. I liked th variety of food could have been more ice cream but wh...at we had was good. No real complaints but no real wows either. See More

We went to the ice cream festival today...don't waste your time. There were more food vendor's than ice cream vendor's, there was maybe 4 ice cream vendors total. When you say ice cream festival you t...hink lots of ice cream...it's a $5.00 admission fee for adults and you don't even get any free ice cream to sample. You have to pay for it and it's $3.00 for a single scoop, $4.00 for a double scoop and $5.00 for a waffle cone. There was nothing for kids to do. Very disappointed and we will not be going back, don't waste your money or your time. See More

I went to the festival with my friends, boyfriend, and puppy. And everyone had a great time! They even had hydration stations all over the place for the many good dogs that came to the festival. The i...ce cream was wonderful. The vendors were all very nice. I would definitely go again next year! See More

Yes My kids had Fun But Let Me tell y'all something:
Too many food trucks and not enough Ice Cream Trucks or activities for the children. The soccer field was nice as well as the Bubbles but Moon Bou...nces would have been way better. Face painting should not have been $12 and the mini train ride should have been placed in a different location for longer riding time. Loved the pictures with the 3 Princesses.
Thank you ACME for the FREE water and goodies. DART too. Ice Cream should have been Unlimited Free for the Children and maybe $2 for Adults.
I would love to be on the Planning Committee for the following year and the years after.

I attended for the first time so I had nothing to compare it with. I had an ok time. I would have thought there would be games and more events for the kids. I also would have liked some funnel cake to... go along with the ice cream. See More

This was our first year going and I must say that I was highly disappointed.
This "ice cream festival" that was supposed to be "kid" friendly was anything but that. There was not much of anything for... kids to do. Yeah she got free ice cream but it was half a scoop.... WOOPTY DOOOO!
This event was for vendors... vendors everywhere.
3 booths of expensive ice cream does not make it an ice cream festival.
I wasted my precious time with my daughter and could've done something a lot more fun.
Will NOT be going again.

An absolutely great day outside with the family! Don't attend broke looking for free ice cream and you will have a wonderful time. They had Disney princesses, bubbles, face paint station and a karate ...exhibition that was very entertaining! My daughter is 4 and she LOVED every minute. Plenty of delicious food to choose from and the vendors were very laid back. We'll be back next year! Oh and security was excellent NCCPD showed up in full force; super appreciative of that! See More

I really enjoyed myself and the activities that were offered. However, I think more ice cream vendors should have been offered! I would have liked to have more options Other than that, very fun festival!

The 2015 Ice cream Festival was an absolute nightmare for us. Every line was a 40 minute wait or longer. I’m talking even for something as simple as getting face paint. We found ourselves waiting in l...ine forever for the park and ride to get to the festival, to get my three year olds face painted, to get a funnel cake. I need to also mention that the grass was really high like it hadn’t been cut in forever so the whole time you were waiting in these ungodly lines you were being eaten alive by bugs. The only thing that saved the whole trip is that he got to meet the cast of frozen and sing on the stage during their live performance. As an adult the trip for me sucked…. I will not be returning next year. I want to list one more thing that happened. On the way back to the car the bus driver coasted past the stop without coming to a full stop and then went on to the next park and ride stop and had a nerve to say that it was our fault he didn’t let us off for not telling him to stop. So we had to wait until he made all his rounds in order to get to our car. I had to sit on the bus with my son crying hysterically because the bus driver had a lead foot See More

I attended in both 2014 and 2015. The lines are so ridiculous that it's not even worth it for anything. I'd much rather go down the street to Rita's or the vendors' actual ice cream shop than pay to g...et in and wait almost an hour to pay some more for some overpriced ice cream. See More

We took 3 of our kids to the festival. We only stayed a couple hours, but we had a great time! There was plenty of shade, the shuttles for parking were convenient (even with a double stroller), and pr...ices were manageable, if a little high. We had a fun time. Definitely recommend it for families looking to walk around and check out vendors and eat some goodies! The karate demonstration was fun (and 3/6 of our family have black belts), and it was neat to have live music and crafts to look at. See More

Went for the first time with a friend to help with her two year old twins. They had a great time, played and won toys and got stickers and had a caricature done. And had ice cream for lunch! The be...st part was how helpful people were for the shuttle buses. Delawareans are just good folks and helped us get all the baby stuff and mega stroller on and off. See More

Had to change my review! You all went down hill and would never attend again.
My suggestion would be stay home or go to an ice cream shop $9 per Ice Cream, $15 per face paint, $7 for a Dixie cup of mi...lkshake... no thanks See More

My 2 year old LOVED paw patrol, and I loved the variety of vendors. Rebel Cove had, by far the best, most refreshing lemonade I've ever encountered. The shuttle buses were a Soooo convenient! We wil...l be back next year! See More

Where is the ice cream? Clearly there is a festival going on, but if you asked someone to guess the theme I'm not sure it screams ice cream.

Finally made it to this event, but I feel the name is misleading... There is nothing "old fashioned" about this event... Nothing more than your typical street fair (although this one charges for adm...ission) with vendors galore selling the same stuff (everything from soap and jewelry to aluminum siding), and some live entertainment . Sure there are several ice cream and other delicious food vendors, but all in all, an underwhelming experience. See More

I thought there was a fee to get in but nobody charged us anything...didn't see any person at an "entrance booth" anywhere. In fact the GPS took us to a path on I think it was Shipley Rd. Where we par...ked & followed the crowd through the woods to the museum & further on to the events. Lines were long for ice cream but not for anything else. Television crew was filming the actor Anthony Anderson with the crew from UD Creamery for some Food Network event. Juggling Hoffmans were entertaining the crowd...Several bands were wnjoyable & not too overwhelmingly loud. Saw some beautifully handmade sea glass jewelry...ate a yummy sugar cookie. The sun was shining...not too hot...breeze blowing...Other than an overly exuberant young boy spilling his dark red gatorade on the back of my leg & skirt I'd say it was a perfectly ejoyable day. Finished it off with a refill in my giant Tiki cup from Maui Wowi...delicious lemon/vanilla/ginger concoction topped with a little pink umbrella. The only suggestion I'd make is to put up some signs letting people know that the festival was going on...something on maybe Weldin & Shipley Rds. & along the path so you'd know you were heading in the right direction. Its supposed to end at 5:00 pm but is still going strong. Great job...hopefully see you next year! Debbie Grier Hall See More
