Bully Brigade tonight.
As many of you may know, we go live on Facebook during our newscasts to interact with viewers when we ca...n, to give you a sneak peek behind the scenes and to say hello.
Most of you are really, really cool. Thank you for that. But some of you are just downright mean bullies. I’m going to share some comments made about me today. But first, I’ll answer the questions.
1. No, I did not just puke up my lunch.
2. Yes, I know I’m putting on makeup. I’m not sure why that affects your life so much. But I’m not going to apologize. I had a doctor's appointment today, then rushed to work, logged an interview tape, wrote a package, did social media, anchored 3 newscasts, wrote another story.... then had to rush and do my makeup over a jacked up eye.
3. Yes, I know I look older than I did at 6, because I AM older!
Tonight my eyes are even extra wrinkly and swollen because I had an allergic reaction to some lotion. The skin underneath my eye is red and irritated. Instead of calling off work, I soldiered on. It doesn’t look great, but I’ll survive...so I came to work.
I am most disappointed in you women. We, as women, have enough to deal with and don’t need to hear other women tearing us down and of all things bashing our looks. Shame on you! Grow up! Try doing your job under a microscope while people pick you apart for every move you make. It ain’t fun.
STOP THE BULLYING. It’s hurtful and unnecessary. I know it comes with the territory when you work in television, but today is the day when I have simply had enough.
Learn to be kind and find something else to do with your time if all you have to offer are hateful words.
I hope someone learns something from this post. Life is short. Learn to be kinder.

AP Chemistry students at Westerville North High School learned the art of making handmade soaps and bath bombs, thanks to science teacher Jeff Bracken, who introduced how chemistry can be used in the real world. Business students then took the products and created a business called Chem Gems. The items were sold at the Mark Twain Holiday Craft Bazaar in November.
