- If you're going to the Cesar Chavez March tomorrow, stay safe. The f...ar-right and Neo-Nazi groups organizing this new march are known for attacking anti-racist protesters. They are likely to have pepper spray handy. Milk or, even better, a one-part water, one-part Maalox (or a similar aluminum hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide based antacid) solution works to flush out pepper spray. Ver más

The Syrian Civil war has resulted in about half a million deaths since it began in 2011, making it the bloodiest conflict of the 21st century. On the verge of peace talks, the United States has decided to launch missiles against Assad's forces. This bloody conflict has to stop.
To represent the deaths that this conflict has and will continue to cause, there will be a die in at the Memorial Union this Monday.

EMERGENCY: The United States has launched missiles at the Syrian military. The United States has no business in the politics of the middle east. These for-profit wars must stop. Fight back against the military-industrial complex. Fight back against Imperialism. We must stop funding terrorists and our own war machine. The people of Syria have suffered enough.

The absurd amount our chancellors make alone without their outside board seats is enough to prove that we students should be able to make the decisions that affect us instead of regents and chancellors who don't have our best interests in mind.

We must oppose our military industrual complex. Education not weaponization
President Trump will propose raising military spending by $54 billion — a nearly 10% increase — and cutting spending for vital government programs. That’s unacc...eptable. The United States spends $604.5 billion on defense, more than the next 12 nations combined. Meanwhile, we have the highest rate of childhood poverty, we are the only major country that does not offer any type of paid leave, 28 million Americans have no health insurance and our infrastructure is crumbling. We should be investing in our people, not spending more money on the military industrial complex.
Ver másIt's time corporations paid their fair share to fund the UCs.
Make sure to sign this petition to get the UCs funded by corporations instead of working class students. There are also instructions on how to call your legislators and get them to support this as well.

Students for a Democratic Society at Davis compartió la publicación de Biko Garage.

Updated Mission:
The Biko Garage is an extension of Biko Co-operative House -- a People of Color house named after Stephen Bantu Biko, founder and martyr of the... Black Consciousness movement in South Africa. Biko garage is an all-ages, alcohol and substance free all-purpose community space and infoshop for meetings, workshops, skill-shares, music, puppet shows, readings, talks, art exhibitions, dance, etc., run by donations and operated by co-op members.
Our priority is to create an intentional and safer space for POC and other marginalized communities. By empowering people of color, queer people, trans folk, women, youth and other marginalized voices we hope to strengthen the diversity in our local arts, music, activist and cooperative community!

The problem is not with us students, it's with the system we're in.
"Today’s young people work hard only to get paid very little. Saddled with student debt, they take multiple jobs, compete for unpaid internships, and sometimes ...move back in with their parents to make ends meet. For those who have stable jobs, the jobs they have may not be in the field that they went to college for. Wages have also remained stagnant. The average college graduate is making about $18.53 an hour, a number that has remained virtually unchanged since 2000."
This is why education should be a right instead of a costly privilege. We should not br expected to take on massive debt for education when it's a requirement to be successful and our education will not guarantee wages high enough to pay off this debt.
