ALWAYS PUT OUR CUSTOMERS’ NEEDS FIRST – PROFESSOR MBENNAH
The St John’s University of Tanzania’s Vice Chancellor Professor Emmanuel Mbennah has instructed all the University’s staff to always put the needs of their customers first on providing them with various services and assistance when they are at the University’s premise or while they are somewhere else outside the University.
Professor Mbennah gave this instruction on Tuesday, 2 May 2018 at the St John’s University of T...anzania’s Council Chamber when he was facilitating a first ever occasional staff seminar on customer care. Professor Mbennah also highlighted the importance of giving first priority to the students who are the University’s number one customer group among several other groups which were identified and listed down by the staff during the seminar’s question and answers session.
Furthermore, Professor Mbennah highlighted the fact that, currently the institutions of higher education worldwide are facing a fierce competition in attracting prospective students as their “paying customers” and requested all the SJUT staff to practice positive behaviours that adhere to the best principles of customer care if the university is to survive the fierce competition while meeting the higher expectations and needs of all its customers including a positive staff to staff customer relationship.
During the seminar, The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance and Administration) Professor Yohana Msanjila explained about some important decisions reached by the University management to improve staff benefits. A total of 117 out of the University’s 210 staff participated in the seminar.
