On April 8, 2021, from 2-4pm EDT in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), we welcome adult survivors of sexual assault to attend a Virtual Speak Out as well as their friends, family, other supporters, and allies. This event is hosted in partnership by The Army of Survivors (TAOS), the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), and Together for Girls. We are all part of a larger partnership referred to as keep kids safe. (www.keep-kids-safe.org/)
Those who... don't identify with the term "survivor" but have a personal experience of sexual assault to share are also welcome. We honor and recognize that some people prefer to use victim or another word of personal choice when identifying as someone that has experienced sexual assault.
We will have counselors available for those wanting support during the event. ASL interpreters will also be available.
It is important for us to create as safe a space as possible, so please register here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FGZL5FB. Participants must register in order to attend.
If you have any additional questions, please email: info@thearmyofsurvivors.org
Thank you very much. We look forward to seeing you at the Speak Out!
We believe more stock should be put in the decision made by local members of the review board as opposed to that of Church officials from afar and we hope that victims are not discouraged by news of the Vatican’s decision.
