So today while on the highway (location Lihue, Kauai) my wife and my phone goes off because of the missle threat warning. We live in Koloa which is about 20 minutes in the opposite direction, we need ...to get to a secured location as per the threat warning in the txt. We pull into to the parking lot and people are driving or pulling in, in an abundance locals and tourist. I tell my wife to go into the store and take shelter, I go to the parking lot and start to tell people to get inside. While in the parking I notice Safeway employees doing the same as me and making sure everyone takes shelter within the confines of Safeway. I then make my way into the store and the employees all are trying to help everyone inside ecspecially the tourist most of which have just arrived on the island. Most of the people inside are completely hysterical and don't know what to do, and again your employees went above and beyond the scope of their jobs today, be appreciative that your staff are excellent at stewardship and a great asset to our community. On 011118 @ 2046 driver of truck number 15929 was very rude and confrontational. He was backing out of the dead end street of Moultrie St in San Francisco after finishing a delivery. I was in my c...ar with my wife and baby leaving the street as well. My lights was on minus the daytime lights. I was trailing in front of him as he backs out giving him two car length of distance. He then for some reason starts to flicker his high beams and lights at me and then speeds up real fast and stops in front of my car. He then steps out of his truck and throws his hands up in the air as if he wanted to initiate a fight with me. I stay in my car because of my wife and baby was in my car and didn’t want to start something with this frustrated guy. So I reverse my car and turn on all my lights at the end of the block. We waited staring at each other for 20 mins he finally gets back in his truck and starts to back out again. I start moving my car forward as he starts to back out of the street. He then stops in the stop sign gets out of his truck and approaches my car. I roll down my window and ask him wassup?. He asks “why do you have your lights on when I’m trying to back up?” Me and my wife tells him we didn’t even have the lights on bright in your face. He then heads back to his truck and continues to back up and drive off.

I didn’t like the fact that he acted in a threatening manner with me while my family was in my car. That was very unprofessional and should have not step out of the truck like that. I don’t wanna see this guy delivering on this street ever again.

Darnestown, Maryland Safeway tonighy at 7:30pm.
I can't believe what just happened to me at the Darnestown Safeway. I ran inside really quick to grab a rotisserie chicken I had my hands on the chicken... and this woman snatched the chicken out of my hands and told me that chicken was saved for somebody else. Then gave the chicken to the guy next to her and he laughed in my face. I was so shocked I didn't say anything at first and then after talking to Eric I decided I better say something I told her what she did was wrong and that I would be writing up a review on it and she told me oh you can post any review you want we're used to it at this Safeway. Another women stopped me in the parking lot to tell me that she asked for her ID after making a purchase over $100 but did not ID the white women in front of her after making a $200 purchase. Something tells me She snatched that chicken out of my hands for other reasons. See More

I went to the Safeway in Clinton, MD yesterday and got numerous things. Among them was a package of raspberries for my daughters for $3.99 and a watermelon for $9.99. When I got home I unloaded all of... the groceries and my husband put them away. This morning I went to get some raspberries and they were no where to be found. My husband said he never put any away. They were never put in my cart by the bagger. I was going to just let it go. Then I cut into the watermelon. It was rotten inside. I called the store and the lady told me that because we didn’t haha the receipt any longer they couldn’t do anything for the raspberries or watermelon. That is $14.00 worth of fruit I am out. Utterly blown away that they wouldn’t even give me store credit for their mess up and rotted food. Very disappointed. See More

You, without a doubt, are the worst Safeway in the Portland area. After the a atrocious customer service, drug overdoses, and theft, we said we would never go to this store again.

Tonight, we broke t...hat Cardinal rule, and went there for a few items. Before we even got to the door, we were greeted with a chemical smell. After entering the store, we realized (and we're told by security), that some woman had sprayed pepper spray on someone.

The employees were choking, so were the customers. When we asked to leave out of a different door, we were told that we had to leave by the sprayed door.

Your employees, and security, at this store are the most atrocious arbiters of... anything.

We should feel safe, walking into a store for groceries, at anytime of the day. Not here.

When we called, Angelique, at the 122nd and Glisan store, we were met with hostility, aggression, and lies. She's told us that she didn't have the corporate phone number. Uh, she did. She's just wouldn't give it to us Ask her "why".

Fix your store. What are you doing?

I am so disappointed in the Safeway at 3702 East-West Hwy Hyattsville, MD 20782. This store was long awaited and opened about a year ago great selection of organic produce and the meat department when... they initially opened was far above what was available in the area. Sadly to say they have lost my business for meat. I have bought organic grass feed ground beef bought it home opened the package and it was spoiled. Not deterred stuff happens but today bought 1.64lbs of ground beef the outer layer of meat was nice and pink looked very fresh. Got the package home opened it to cook it and the center meat was brown and only the outer layer top and bottom was pink like it was packaged like that to fool the shopper. Needless to say Safeway has lost my confidence and business. Better get it together or Whole Foods and Shoppers in College Park will get all your business! See More

I'm surprised to see so many poor reviews. It must be down to the individual stores? The Safeway on McWilliams in Bremerton, WA has always been a great store. The employees are all friendly. I have ha...d to make a handful of delivery orders this year due to a rough pregnancy, illness, and just to have things available coming back from vacation. They are always on time, and the food is fresh and cold. We just came back from being away for two weeks, and with a family of 6, you can't just run to the store "real quick" to buy things for the week upon arrival home. And goodness knows we were sick of fast food. It was so nice to arrive home and receive a big order of groceries right away! Thank you Safeway on McWilliams! See More

I have been a loyal customer for decades. I am disabled and use the delivery they offer. I really need this service but I learned that if you order groceries from Safeway and there is a problem that t...here is no way to contact a live person to get any help. I did not receive my last grocery order. No phone call to let me know not to wait for hours and hours for someone to show up. No way to contact anyone to see if I am going to have to dispute the charges that came out of my account. So now I am going to have to make arrangements to shop somewhere else. Since Safeway does not seem to care if I am a customer or not. See More

Do not use their delivery service (at least in San Francisco). Every single time they have been late, ignored my requests for not giving me a substitute item, charged me far more than the projected to...tal cost, and once when they were a no call no show I sat on hold for customer service for over an hour until a woman assured me my order was cancelled only for it to be delivered to my work place the next day causing my boss to wonder why I was having beer delivered to the high school. First, I want to say I really do like the Safeway in Lone Tree, Colorado. Everyone is super friendly and nice. We have regular shoppers there since 1999. I often buy flowers when I shop to have aro...und the house but it seems as though the quality is no longer very good. I purchased flowers on Friday afternoon and by Sunday some were dead and others dying (see pictures in the comments). It is very unfortunate that the quality is so poor. See More

Don't buy any gift card from Safeway because the store will not honor it.

I was at the Stockton - Lincoln Shopping Center Safeway on 1/3/2018. The cashiers claimed a security breach had compromised ...all their gift cards. They don't have any manager on site. The customer service over the phone told the cashiers that they have to honor the gift card, but the cashiers refused. The cashiers claimed that they will not have a job tomorrow if they let me use my gift card. I was bounced back and forth like a beach ball between the cashiers and the customer service for almost an hour with no resolution.

I am very disappointed. I don't know how will I get my money back from my gift cards.

I just had my first delivery if groceries for free and used the promo code 25FREE and was very pleased with the service. I felt the order was filled accurately with only one or two substitutions which... I had already agreed to. The driver arrived on time, during the delivery window and was very nice and professional. Offered to help me take groceries in explaining that it is up to me. I was sick so appreciates the help. She explained the invoice etc. Her name is Kai (not sure of the spelling - I thought it would be on the invoice but couldn't find it). I was very grateful to get groceries delivered as I couldn't get out and had no one I could really ask to get groceries for me (brands, sizes, amounts etc.). Really pleased. See More

Continue to keep expired food on their shelves and sell it to customers. To date we have had a juice 1 week past expiration, bread 10 days, lunch meat in excess of a week and ranch dressing in excess ...of 1 year. You read that correctly. Ranch dressing 1...year...old. And I know your question "why aren't you looking at the expiration date?" Because that's not my job. I'm a customer. Not a stock person or a manager. That is THEIR job. Clearly, you aren't doing your job and in the real world, you get fired when you don't. You are a large chain, do better and conduct your stores and inventory accordingly. See More

I rushed in to get my daughter's birthday cake before her party started. The lady tells me she can't find my daughter's cake. She continues to look and then says oh we ran out of butter cream so we ju...st didn't make it. Wth? No call no nothing. They gave me a cake which was horrible. It wasn't a cake my daughter liked. Safeway com is such a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I decided to try grocery delivery for the first time, as I have an infant and three year old making shopping very difficult. I placed my order last night with d...elivery today. The driver was an hour late. Not a great first impression, but things happen. He dropped off my groceries and left quickly. As I was unpacking the groceries, I noticed that I was missing about 85% of my order, including ingredients for dinner tonight. I tried calling the driver back and he did not answer. I called the customer service number (waited on hold with a screaming infant). They said there was no way for them to contact the driver. Seems like an inefficient and unsafe way to run a company. Then they offered to have the groceries delivered tomorrow, which doesn't really help me. I still have to go to the store tonight to pick up dinner and milk (which the driver said was out of stock?!?). Now I have to stay home all day tomorrow too?!? I asked for my money back, which was an obvious solution to not receiving items that were paid for. Then I was told I would receive a delivery credit ($10 woo-hoo...not). I'm not ever using Safeway com again, so this does me no good. I figured ordering from a reputable company like Safeway would be a safe choice, but that ended up not being the case. There are plenty of other grocery delivery options, which I will be exploring. See More

I ordered a large order of groceries on Saturday for delivery on Sunday. An hour before my scheduled delivery time they said my card was declined. Three more cards they said were declined. All accoun...ts are good with plenty money available I even called my different banks and they said they weren’t declining them. I spent two hours being hung up on, being out on hold, transferred to voicemail only to be told it was too late I had missed the delivery truck and would have to re-enter my order. Unbelievable. There is no reason to leave a store as understaffed as the in on Santa Rita in Pleasanton, CA. When there are two or three checkout stands opened, and lines reaching into the produce department, ther...e is something wrong. It’s like this every day. Be careful!
I used self check out a couple of weeks ago and paid for my $94 worth of groceries and my receipt printed for $94. I checked my bank account a few days later and saw I was charged for $22...3! I called to double check that I didn’t get cash back which I hadn’t. I requested the receipt again (I had thrown it away like most people do..) and they gladly provided me with it. I looked through the receipts given to me only to find that there were $130 worth of groceries on there that were NOT MINE! There were several beers along with other items, which required an ID check, which they will see on the security cameras I did not provide nor did they check, because I did not purchase those items! I called AGAIN today and they said they would look into it. The woman said “I’ll check into it now because I have time “. They should have checked into it RIGHT AWAY because there is a possibility that it’s a system error. How many other people has this happened to since I’ve been in?!? I would like my $130 back! The scary thing is that the receipt that was printed when I was done checking out only showed my groceries, but the customer service receipt showed all the other items that were not mine! I have been going to the Safeway at the corner of Rucker and 41st ST. In Everett, Washington for a little over two years. This store is absolutely terrible. They are continuously out of items especial...ly if that item is on sale. This location has multiple check lanes and regularly only has one working. They do not have self check out lanes so if you stop in to get a few items you are forced into at least a 30 minute wait. I literally walked in five minutes ago and saw that there was one register open and the line was halfway down the aisle resulting in me walking right back through the doors and into my car to go to their competition. Their prices are ridiculous as well. Which, if they had higher prices because they were paying more employees to work then that would be acceptable. But that is not the case. Safeway is the epitome of a major company that absolutely hates their customers. See More

Safeway delivery on Sunrise and Swan in Tucson, AZ- 3 days and no response. I now believe customer support is a mythical place. Here is what I sent them:Several items were left out of my order last ni...ght. It was a big order, so I can understand how a mistake could be made. I would like credit for these items, if they are not still in the staging areas where you compile the orders. If they are still there, I would like them delivered, without a fee. I included the full order confirmation below. I called the store and was given the customer support line and was on hold for 22 minutes, so I am guessing it is not really manned during the weekends.

Here are my missing items- this would have been 2 or 3 bags worth.
