Meet Abdinur Muqtur, our fourth D.J.'s Hero Award recipient. Fleeing the brutal war in Somalia, Abdinur helped his family survive life in one of the world's most violent refugee camps in Dadaab, Kenya. With the understanding that education is the key to survival, he and his friends studied in order to pass their 9th grade national exam. He later arrived in Omaha as a refugee where he's excelled academically. Abdinur hopes to one day work for the United Nations as an advocate for refugees.
