Sometimes life hits hard. Received the news today of Alain Vercammen passing away. I met Alain when, professionally, I was going through dark times. Hungry for success & with skyhigh ambitions, but without funding to continue my climb up the motorsport ladder. He recognised and respected that, and it triggered him to act. Not only did he invite me to race with him, he also tried to figure out which steps were needed for me to make progress. It makes him one of the very few pe...ople who has genuinely helped. Recent developments in my career gave him a very honest form of satisfaction. But more importantly, we clicked personally. He was a gentlemen, someone with great empathy & integrity, down-to-earth, intelligent, kind.. someone TRUE. I very much enjoyed his presence, and am thankful to call him my friend. Alain fought ALS disease like a badass, with a positivity that will forever have my respect. My thoughts are with his family. It’s a sad day ❤️
My first ever pitstop (practice) ! Big fun #burningsomerubber
So that was it for today. Had a very good start and got from P7 to P4 in the first lap. The car felt quick again which was nice! At the start of lap 2, I got hit by this driver and it rolled me over. Was brought to the medical centre for a check up, but I got away with only a bruised knee. A lot of damage to the car and no points.. Sit back and watch the most opportunistic move of the year! #fail
