If you are looking for a place to get married on the central coast, look no further. The Santa Maria Inn was a beautiful location for our wedding. Lauren and her team went above and beyond for everyth...ing we needed during the planning stages, the decorating stages and the day of coordination. Lauren is extremely organized and has a very friendly and encouraging attitude. If you want something, she will get it done for you! The entire hotel staff was so gracious and made everyone's stay so special. There were some changes that we made on the day of, and Lauren and her team took them graciously and gave us the best day ever. You will not be disappointed if you book your wedding here. The prices are phenomenal and include much more than your average venue. The food was delicious and we heard nothing but compliments from guests all evening. It really is a beautiful place to get married surrounded by all of the history, if you are unsure of this venue like we were at first, Lauren will put all of those insecurities to rest. I cannot say enough positive things about this venue and staff, it truly was the best day of our lives. See More

Love this place. People friendly atmosphere. Classy place. Rooms neat and clean. They have rooms named after famous people like the Maryland Monroe room and many other actresses and actors. Just a... cool place to stay. I highly recommend The Santa Maria Inn. 👍 See More

Great place, great food, the hotel is impeccable and its history makes it more interesting. My Family and I had a great time during our stay. Its truly a piece of Americana captured in time.

We traveled in a group and had dinner in the restaurant.
The service was not great. That young lady who was going to seat us was somewhere else in her mind. She totally ignored us ( my sister and me) ...our friends we traveled with had already ordered their drinks. After 10 min of waiting We walked through the restaurant and found our friends! No excuses!
The food and wine was great and I recommend it very much to have dinner there!!!

A “historic” designation is not an excuse for lack of maintenance. We will NOT be back here unless the filthy curtains are cleaned, the chipped doors are repaired, the broken electrical plates are rep...laced, marred walls & edges in hallways & elevator are refinished, dirty windows are cleaned, patio “flooring” is replaced, smoke alarm is secured to wall, nasty blood-like splatter on wall is cleaned, dents in drywall are patched & painted, broken tile in elevator replaced, and the list goes on! And these complaints are in the executive tower suites (not the “old” section of the hotel). You LOST our business after many years of staying here. Too many other clean & well maintained properties in the area to put up with this mess. SHAME ON YOU! See a few photos in the comments See More

Eggs Benedict was odd. Poached egg on top of avocado, tomato salsa, English muffin saw soggy, but did have the hollandaise sauce. Baked Brie was like rubber. Cheese station with salami had no bread o...r crackers. I'm sure it all went to waste. Had lox, capers & onions.... We had to ask for bagels & cream cheese... They brought out blueberry bagels along with plain bagels that were hard, possibly from a Wonder bakery bag. For a Santa Maria Historical Monument this Restaurant should be top notch. People travel from far to visit See More

I loved the atmosphere and the space. We were given a designer suite which had a neat terrace to walk through outside on our way to our room. The room smelled musty, but overall a pleasant experience.

Food is over priced. Poorly maintained. Scuffed paint on all of the hallways in the older section! All it takes is a coat of paint to make it look better. Sorry no better than motel 6!

We ate in the bar but we could still order from the restaurant if we wanted. The food was so good. We had the artichoke dip and the steak bites with a marsalla sauce. Both were delicious but wish they... came with more of the bred for the steak and maybe some tortilla chips too for the artichoke dip, there was plenty. The Lemon Drop martinis were cold , lemony & not for sipping they were so good. Only reason I didnt give all 5 stars... the woman bartender.. was not very friendly and didn't really seem to care about serving us or not. I had to clear the table. Now come on, she wasn't even busy!! See More

My hubby & I chose the Santa Maria Inn for our 18th anniversary. (The 4th of July) We are currently here now, in the Marilyn Monroe room, (the original side of the Inn) for two nights. Sweet room w/ b...alcony overlooking one of the gardens & a fountain.
So far its AMAZING.. Wonderful place for history buffs. Im finding myself Googling all kinds of things & people. A charming ambiance thru-out, the food is wonderful, I recommend the fresh Ahi tuna salad. The beds are very comfortable. Rooms are spotless & supplied w/ all basic necessities. Our bed is fantastic, SO comfortable. The hotel is very clean & well maintained, but preserving the 100's feel & old fashioned elegance. I LOVE exploring the ins & outs of the hotel, so many twists & turns. I do advice using the provided map when u explore.. lol. There are gold stars on the doors embossed w/ the names of some of the famous people that have stayed here..from the silent film era of the late 1900's to stars of the 70's. It's just an overall really cool experience. I haven't seen the rooms in the modern "tower" side, but since I chose the hotel for its history, I prefer the original side. Im told the rooms are larger & modernized in the new wing. The whole staff is going above & beyond to make our stay very memorable. We will definitely stay again in the future. I mean to think we are sleeping in a room where Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio stayed? And on our anniversary? Come on.. THAT's romantic! ❤

I absolutely love this hotel! My fiancé and I had lunch yesterday in the newly renovated Century Room restaurant! While I've always loved the food here the change in atmosphere after the redecorating ...is very contemporary, but still managed to maintain the charm of the historic hotel. The food was wonderful as always! We loved the crispy artichoke, the ahi salad, and the shrimp noodle salad! Quentin our server was delightful! All staff members have always been courteous and helpful. We always enjoy coming to the inn! See More

An old interesting hotel but needs better housekeeping in pool area particularly. Jaccuzi area was fairly dirty under the rim of the edge...more than a weeks worth of dirt. Also pool area fully of lea...ves etc and so inevitably lots if leaves in the pool. Could be so much better so wouldn't recommend. See More

Very disappointed! We checked into this hotel, all we got was a room. No complimentary breakfast, no cookies, no coffee in the morning. We were put in the old part, the windows look like they haven't ...been cleaned in years and I could write in the dust on the window sill. We had travelled all day and were exhausted and wanted to sleep but couldn't because a band was playing right below us. The taps in the bathroom leaked also. Time for an update or use your new rooms. Beds were comfortable that was it's only saving grace. See More

We stayed one night with our dog. I forgot to bring his food and water bowls- the front desk staff had actual dog dishes we could use along with a bag of doggie treats! We had a suite with a kitchenet...te- the only thing that could have made it better is if that was stocked with a few basics. Besides that, the room was cozy and clean. I loved the fireplace and the bed was comfy. We enjoyed a drink in the wine bar and our dinner was great too! See More
