Park lovers and Olympians! Be a part of an important Urban Design Discussion on Monday, May 23, 6:00 p.m. at the Olympia Center.

The City wants your feedback on visual design concepts--a just-developed vision for unique areas of character to be created or enhanced throughout our downtown. Preserving open-space parks like the LBA Woods has an impact on future density. Let's get this right!

Friends we've been notified that tonight the City Council will approve the Trillium property purchase at its meeting at 7:00. It would be great to have a large turnout to show the City how much we appreciate their commitment to saving the LBA Woods. Please plan to attend and wear your blue t-shirts.

Friends - There are beavers among us - Wildlife abound right here, in the Chambers Lake basin. A few weeks back a large beaver was struck and killed on Hoffman Rd SE. This is the second beaver that has been killed in the area by vehicular traffic. Please be careful while driving on Wiggins/Hoffman Rd/ Morse Merryman/Boulevard—especially at night, when wildlife roam around.

Friends here's an update on the water tower on the Trillium parcel - Improved water tower access route - After input from our community during meetings earlier this year, City of Olympia engineers re-designed and shortened the access road to avoid impacts to wetlands. Thanks for attending, and providing input, and thanks to the City engineers for attending to this important detail. Construction of the tower begins this fall. Some trails will be impacted, and the City plans to re-route them. The color of the tower will be green. The City engineer assures us that construction crews will remain vigilant about no impacts outside the construction zone.

Trillium is in bloom...in soon-to-former site of "Trillium" housing development in the LBA woods. Tread carefully on your walks!
