Hi, my name is Elliott Sherman and I'm running for Congress in Texas Second district but I wanna talk to you today about something related to Texas legislative issues specifically as you know, the Coco virus is gone crazy in terms of a new cases spiking here in Texas and at least a lot of people wondering what they're gonna do on Election day and you've got you know the Republicans on one side who are saying we need to protect our voter integrity and guard against voter fraud. You've got Democrats on the other side, saying everyone needs to be able to. Mail-in ballots Unfortunately, the Texas Supreme Court. as well as the United States Supreme Court recently shut down the option for mail in ballots for anyone under retirement age, who is not currently disabled in Texas. So what does that mean well unless we do nothing? it just means you have to go into the booth like normal, which is not ideal given that those spikes there are going to be longer waiting times. There's also the whole fact that Texas authorized not are they got rid of straight ticket voting. The last cycle, so that means that it's gonna take even longer to vote longer lines you're going to have to keep you know distant from everyone in those lines and it's just really gonna be a big mess. so I came up with an idea called the Texas safe ballot option, which allows people to use the existing infrastructure that the state government already has in place for auto registrations where you just go to your local grocery store and get that paperwork taken care of where instead of getting your auto registration, you will take your your voter ID and take it up there and they print. A personalized ballot with a single use code now what that means is you can take that ballot home research all of the candidates candidates and all of races that are applicable to you and return it and drop it off during early voting or on or on election day at any of the normal polling locations using any of the normal polling security features. So that means you show your registration card. they look you up, You sign your name et cetera. So this this compromise in my opinion helps keep things safe as. Kind of balances the concerns about voter fraud. This is a non partisan proposal, so I'm asking that you all regardless of where you land on the political spectrum. help me by liking and sharing this information so we can get our legislatures or let Texas legislators to use an emergency session to get this done in time now, here are the important dates my idea involves having the balance to be able to be printed up to a month out ahead of early voting so that would be September nineteenth so that would. Need to get this legislation passed and get all of the proper printing infrastructure in place before them so that would give a month for people to pick up their ballots make it again drop them off at any time during early voting or on Election day at regular polling places with their signatures taking care of all of the security issues and concerns now what happens you might ask if you lose your ballot once you get a printed well that single use code, then be eliminated whenever you get a second. Print it up to any concerns about voter fraud so again if you are interested in learning more about this, please visit my website at Sherman for Congress dot com and you'll see a link right there for the Safe Boating option. Thanks so much guys.
