One final pizza before we left Rome, at Seu Pizza Illuminati - this place wasn’t even open when we arrived at 7pm (early for an Italian dinner) and there was already a line outside, which is always a great sign!

The pizza was pretty classic Neapolitan in taste, although more round and with a higher rise in the crust. It achieved the coveted magic in the middle, thanks to delicious buffalo mozzarella. It did have a few burnt spots which I never love, but they weren’t hard to eat around. Still not as good as Naples itself but a top tier pizza in my eyes and stomach.

Back in Italy for the first time since our Naples adventure and I had to give some pizza a try in Palermo, Sicily! Pizzeria Frida is known for its “Quadri” or square pizza. The crust on these pizzas are folded over to create a square, and are stuffed with cheese and toppings. So it’s sort of like a calzone and a pizza fell in love and had a baby. Or like a much better Dominos stuffed crust pizza. I chose the Diego, which was topped with a hot salami and arugula. Was it better than Naples? No. But was it very delicious? 💯
