Held a meeting today at the University of North Florida about how we can address the shortage of mental health treatment in the region. Six Jacksonville health care systems recently came together to donate nearly $900,000 to UNF’s Mental Health Graduate Nursing Program, which is aiming to close the gap.
Our discussion also included Jacksonville’s first responders, who are dealing with the opioid addiction epidemic plaguing our communities. Unfortunately, this is a widespread problem that has claimed far too many lives across our state.
Thank you to UNF President John Delaney and everyone else who joined me at today’s event. Together we can combat this epidemic and improve mental health treatment in Florida.

Voting against the ability of mentally unstable folks to purchase guns could have helped. Supporting the ACA would have helped. Expanding Medicaid in Fl. would have helped. You want publicity but will not take a stand when it would make a difference.

How do you sleep at night? Your health plan would throw tens of thousands off their healthcare. You have introduced not one bill to address mental health. I have read your vision for reform and mental health, addiction, and poor people aren't in it.

This is in Jacksonville, my home. Baptist Health is the largest employer of healthcare professionals in the city. And the main hospital has always had a mental health unit. I'm sure their donation to this cause is one of the largest.

How about not stripping the mental health coverage provided under ACA? How many folks would loose mental health coverage if the AHCA had passed?

Rubio was a big shot in the Florida legislature before he was elected to the Senate. As I recall, there were mentally ill people back then too.
So now he posts a photo of him discussing a problem that he could have addressed on the state level years …

Good evening. I'm sure you are aware that President Trump addressed the NRA today. He promised his loyalty.
Not long ago, a law was passed that effectively allowed mentally ill people to own guns. I was astonished.
So much carnage has happened these la…
