Congrats to the Coaldale Copperheads Junior Hockey!
NEWS RELEASE if you were not present or following media last night.... The Coaldale Copperheads have officially claimed the HJHL South Division title last night... on home ice. The team couldn't of been more proud after everything we have gone through this season. What a highlight to finally win this baby on home ground in front of the best fans of the HJHL.
A touch of history for those not aware- this is the Snakes 11th season as an organization. The team won the regular season, south and league champions the first time ever in our eight season. Therefore, it is not an easy task- it takes dedication and total hard work ethic to go the distance.Winning regular season play overall and now the south title is just the start of what this team has in store.
The team will have a much needed few days off waiting for the north division to complete. Currently, Red Deer is leading 3-2 over Airdire. We will have home advantage if Airdire wins for the league championship playdown. TBA on the best of three game series when finalized. League Championsip is our next vision for #twosix and the Snakes.
Lastly, winning the south championship also clinched the Copperheads a berth for "PROVINCIAL BOUND" to Ft. St. John BC for Mar 29- April 1. Oh my goodness.... we are pumped for this!

A Public Service Announcement from the City of Lethbridge:
Flood prevention tips for residents
With the potential for rapid snow melt in the coming days due to warming temperatures, residents are encouraged to take note of several tips to help prevent flooding of basements or water pooling on neighbourhood streets.
• Make sure all downspouts are down and extend at least 2 metres (6 feet) away from your home’s foundation. This will allow water to drain onto your lawn rather than overwhelming your foundation drain.
• Ensure that grading around your house directs water away from the foundation.
• Keep eavestroughs and downspouts clear of ice, leaves and other debris.
• If you have a sump pump or a backwater valve, check to ensure it is in good working order.
In your neighbourhood:
There is potential for ice buildup in storm drain catch basins along streets throughout the city. Public Operations crews are prepared to respond if these situations arise.
Residents may also look for opportunities to clear snow or ice away from catch basins in their neighbourhoods. Pooling water on streets or other concerns can be reported to Public Operations at 403-320-3850.
