My little boy and I were in an accident on 280 this morning that totaled my car and really had both of us shaken up. One of the officers offered to drive us home, since my car was hauled off on the to...w truck. He patiently waited for me to get ALL of my stuff from my car (including a large sized wagon, a car seat and a bunch of junk) and he then carried and loaded them into the back of his vehicle. He drove us home, and brought all of my items right inside my front door.
So I just wanted to say:
I can not believe I didn’t get your name! Unexpected acts of kindness not only help us to believe that there is still good in the world, but they also teach our children about character, and about looking out for others. What an example for my ten year old son. He may never forget the accident- but he will never forget how we got back home either. Thank you.

I am so glad to live in Shelby County. The Deputies are the best. I worked in Shelby County ten years before moving from Jefferson County. The service is better in my opinion as to quick response o...f law enforcement. I would especially like to give Deputy Maddox a big thanks for helping me with a neighborhood issue. We are very fortunate to have him in Shelby County. See More

Thank you so much to the 3 deputies who helped search for my husband who spent hours pinned underneath his 4 wheeler in the woods near our home Saturday night into Sunday morning. I could not of ask...ed for a more kind, caring and professional response. (I wish I could post a picture of the wreckage, but that's not allowed) I appreciate your help more than you'll ever know! Thank you for all you do to protect and serve! See More

Gotta love it when the people that are sworn to uphold the law have no regard for the law. I just had a sheriff office charger pass me on 65 in a construction zone running about 70. If I had caught th...e car number I would post it! See More

I wanted to thank the Sheriff that did my fingerprints today. I passed my Real Estate Test and need to send my paperwork off today. I went to 3 police station, post office, UPS stores and called 6 companies. The sheriff was very nice to me and treated me like a friend. He didn't mind helping me and was very helpful. Thanks Shelby County Sheriffs Office!! See More

I'm so thankful for Officer Kendrick of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department for his help with changing my flat tire. His assistance brightened my day on this cold, wet morning.

Early this morning, someone attempted to break into my wife's vehicle. I called the Shelby County Sheriff's Department to report the incident. They responded very quickly. They were courteous, thoroug...h, and professional. Four deputies came out, investigated, searched, and patrolled the neighborhood for the better part of an hour in response to my call. Thank you, deputies, for going above and beyond. The citizens of Shelby County are fortunate to have you! See More

This morning, on Hwy 49 at Brechin Ln, I notices my dog dead on the road. One of your deputies stopped and asked if everything was okay after I had picked her up and put her in my Tahoe. For me, my wo...rld was pretty dark, but his moment to just check on me was beyond a blessing. I wanted to say thank you. Since I don't know him, maybe he will see this. See More

These might not be the typical Fathers Day pictures you were expecting to see, but our family is anything but typical so it's fitting! One of the local officer's from Shelby County Sheriff's Departme...nt came by our Father's Day celebration to introduce us to the newest member of their team! As a resident of Shelby County I am extremely proud of the example these officers set, they did not have to take the time out of their busy schedules to come by for a visit, but knowing that my nanny and pawpaw always have someone looking out for them even if they are home alone makes a world of difference! They handed out stickers to the kids (and us big kids too, lol), dodged dogs, shared laughs and of course hydrated before they went back out! In a world that shed's such a negative light on police men, this random act of kindness and compassion will always be a reminder that the good guys do exist and are very much involved with the community they serve! So thank you Officer's of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department for going above and beyond the call of duty, we appreciate it more than you know!❤️
Happy Father's Day to all you daddy's out there!

My family and I were traveling home from Florida and broke down on the off ramp of I65. Deputy Rory Dempsey went above and beyond to help us. From giving my 3 kids bottled water, to driving my family the auto mechanic when we all couldn't fit in the tow truck, words cannot express how much I appreciate this. This man was truly an angel when we needed help and I hope he knows how much we appreciated what he did. Give that man a raise!! Many thanks from Ky! See More

Vote Doug Jones for US senate. He's tough on crime and will respect the law as written. Also, he won't accept money from bad organizations, like the other candidate did.

I'd like to write a note of gratitude to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for helping to recover my stolen iPhone last Friday. After realizing my phone had been taken from my place of employment, I... was able to track it to a physical address using the "find my iPhone" app. I called the sheriff's office and the dispatcher that answered put me immediately in touch with Deputy Perry. Within 30 minutes, the officer called me back saying he had retrieved my phone. He then bent over backwards to reunite me with my phone that very same night by passing it off to two deputies who were patrolling closer to where I live in Birmingham. I must say, I am super impressed by the promptness and professionalism of the Shelby County Sheriffs. Y'all are wonderful and a true cornerstone in our community. Thank you. See More

Today I had to call the non emergency number, to get help getting to my grandson. He had "rocked" his packnplay to where it was blocking the bedroom door. I was embarrassed to call, but could not out a way to get to him.
An officer came, and then the fire department. No one made me feel silly. They were all glad to help, and had huge smiles. Thank you all so much!!!

After all the problems being said about police officers, I just want to say thank you to one. I am having car problems this morning, stuck on the side of the road and an officer took time to make sure... I was ok. I have seen mamy an officer drive right by a person in distress but he stopped and asked if I was ok and would be ok alone. It is a safe road, so I told him thank you I had help on the way. But I am sure he would have stayed till help arrived. I did not get his name but hos car number is shelby county sheriff 1533. It makes me feel much better about the fate of our country. Thank you so much officer for caring about your fellow man. See More

Y'all aren't much helpful about the fireworks ordeal. I had to cancel a gathering at my house bc a friend who is a veteran has PTSD and can't handle the fireworks especially when I walk out into my ba...ckyard and one exploded right in front of my face. If that had been my friend walking out in my backyard I couldn't have imagined what would have happened!!!!! See More
