I wanted to keep it a complete secret, but it's arrived, and I couldn't help myself. I wanted to go out with a bang this convocation, wearing what got me here, and nothing better than a #DarkMatter print dress to do it in!
This print is from the The Millennium Simulation Project's simulation of the dark matter cosmic web. I couldn't be happier with the look, the fit, everything!! Thank you so much to Holly @shenovafashion for helping make t...his dress a reality! If I need a *really* nice dress with personality, I know where to go; and you all should, too. It was incredibly inspiring to watch the 1800 international finalists at Intel's International Science and Engineering Fair.
ISEF has been honoring young researchers since 1950. Created and run by Society for Science & the Public (SSP), it is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Now sponsored by Intel, ISEF this year brought together students from 78 countries, regions and territories.
As an extra bonus, the award ceremony was hosted by Dr. Cryst...al Dilworth wearing the Shenova Neuroscience Brainbow dress!
Dr. Dilworth is an internationally recognized science communicator, co-founder of the Los Angeles Nerd Brigade, and a passionate STEM literacy advocate. It's an honor to see her in the dress!
The Neuroscience Brainbow dress is based on research and imagery by J Lichtman at Harvard Center for Brain Science. The brainbow imagery is a result of scientists using light microscopy and image the branching patterns and connections of all the axons within a region of the nervous system in transgenic mice that express a number of different fluorescent proteins in individual neurons.

Why did I but this? (Or have it gifted) real life edition. Here I am in my trabecular bone dress from @shenovafashion which makes me feel like an awesome scientist and my @elledoran tote that makes me feel like a badass artist. As I progress in my academic career I am pushed more and more to compartmentalize myself. Keep the engineer separate from the dancer separate from the act...ivist separate from the woman.
