Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. Had certain expectations, but these were met far beyond what we had hoped for. Special thanks to Cameron and Sam who are both committed, knowledgeabl...e and nice. We have learned a lot. Also nice to get to know Bobby-Jo, a famous young Australian zookeeper and photographer with a great commitment to the future of the elephants.

We were also pleased with everything we got to see. Sam and Cameron looked up the animals and we saw most of them. Too bad we did not bring the leopard, but it goes well. We have plenty of impression to digest.

The camp and package you offer is very good. Know we complained a bit about the wifi (which one should not really spend time on) and lack of air conditioning. Cameron later explained that this would require major infrastructural changes with the consequence of having to install fences. It would be a shame. The open camp that allows animals to have free access makes the experience extra exotic and exciting. Therefore, keep the simplicity the way it is. We never felt unsafe for that reason.

We would like to come back and we strongly recommend this camp. If you emphasize experiences, excitement, proximity to different animals and knowledge about these, this is the place for you. But if you are most concerned with unnecessary luxury and good dinners, you should find another camp.

Shindzela delivers a true authenticity with dedicated and wonderfully friendly staff to look after. I never thought this could be so good, but as you understand - it was. Thanks for us!

Was everything we hoped for! My friend probably spent 100 hours searching and we wound up at Shindzela. They were incredibly nice, very knowledgeable, it was like comfortable 'roughing it' (not some 5... star resort that makes you feel like you're not in the wild at all, but comfortable permanent tents with open air showers and good food each day and so on). The guides focused on what we wanted to find. They have the potential to see almost any animal you'd likely want (apparently cheetahs and wild dogs are infrequent there). I've been itching to go back ever since!! See More

We spent 4 nights at Shindzela in August 2017 as part of a two week joint-birthday safari. And what a hidden gem it is. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with a private open-air bathroom attached ...- we particularly appreciated the hot water bottles in bed at night and the shower in room 1 was fantastic! Each tented cabin has a private balcony and we spent our time between drives sitting there with a cold drink, watching the herds of elephant and buffalo at the watering hole in front of camp. The meals are good value and the staff are friendly. Morning and evening game drives were fantastic - with some memorable sightings such as wild dog and leopards. Shindzela was amazing value for money, particularly given it's location inside the Timbavati. We would definitely return again! See More

We have been experiencing a safari that has been exceeding our wildest expectations.
The hospitality and professional handling of the guests in accordance with the nature and what is expected in the ...wild of Africa, we have been guided through threats and reality by proffesional rangers and trackers. They have enlightened us and given us knowledge that it would take years to learn. Specially thanks to Cameron and Samuel and the rest of the team that made our dream come true. See More

Their website explains it very well. If you are looking for a luxurious spa experience this is not it. But if you want a comfortable yet simple time in the bush, with guides that are passionate and kn...owledgeable and the comfort of a good bed, good home-cooked food and a communal friendly table to talk with new friends about the adventures you saw and are yet to see , then this is the place for you! Amazing people. Really loved the hospitality offered. Our safari ranger, Cameron was amazingly knowledgeable and ensured that we all got to see all the animals we wanted. My husband and I spent the Ch...ristmas there. Absolutely worth staying and seeing the animals. It's a no fenced camp. A new experience of its kind. kudos to the whole shindzela team. See More

We had a wonderful time at Shindzela, my husband and our two sons Pascal and Mathijs. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially Jaco as a guide and Jeffrey our tracker made the two days ...we stayed at Shindzela an unforgettable period. We couldn't have wished more. You don't have to expect a luxurious environment, but the tents and the beds are really comfortable and the shower was fine. Great food and I liked the way the meals were announced and served. All the good things that were written down in the reviews I had read before our stay became true. We just loved Shindzela and would like to come back. The sundowner during our first game drive was awsome... I can really recommend this private game reserve. See More

Sem, Raymond, Jaco, Carolina and all the other crew: thank you so much for the great experience we've had the last couple of days. Sleeping in a tent inbetween the wild animals, eating with the other ...guests around the fire and your warm welkom made it an excellent stay in the middle of nowhere! Even waking up at 04.45 for a morning-gamedrive wasn't a big deal for us (in Holland it is ;-)). We went to Pretoriuskop (yesterday) and Komanipoort today and guess what? We saw the leopard! Maybe we'll meet again. All the luck! Sincerely, Jan Jitse & Nienke See More

Our stay at Shindzela was the safari experience of a lifetime. We don't even know where to start. The camp is very nice and comfortable, not too big. The tents are very cute, you get everything you ne...ed. We've been warmly welcomed by Johan, one of the best safari guide of Africa. We had a quick lunch (fine african food) and jumped in the car for the sunset drive. We spent the next 3 hours seeing incredible game. I'm not gonna detail our drive, as each drive is different, but we have never been so close to wildlife. The relation between the guides and the animals is amazing, and you often get at the middle of dozens of wild animals, and they are just playing around the car like if you weren't there. We stopped in a great place, and jumped outta the car to enjoy a glass of wine facing the sunset. While we were on the ground, three hyenas came across very closely, and shared this great moment with us. The diner around the fire was excellent. We were amazed to find a hot bottle in our bed when we came back. The morning drive has been a great safari as well. We definitly recommand this camp, it's the best experience you can get with a reasonnable budget. Thank you guys to have made our honeymoon such a great time. See More

Most amazing afternoon drive last Sunday: seeing the big 5 and even seeing a leopard (with her cub) kill an antilope cub. Staff is very friendly and surrounding stunning!
