It's beauty and its LOCATION. A very large complex of noteworthy architecture & historical significance. Definitely worth the strenuous climb if the ROPEWAY is down for its annual maintenance.

It was a beautiful place! We even got to enjoy it in the rain. There was a noodle restaurant at the top that was delicious.

Shoshazan Engyoji is a very beautiful and peaceful place. The monks and other staff are friendly and kind also. We make it a point to go there whenever we go to Japan. Highly recommended
