Inspired by our recent visit to Greece, I have been working on a recipe for one of the simplest, yet most delicious, dishes we encountered. This “Fava” originated, I am told on the island of Santorini. Despite its name, it’s actually made with yellow split peas (channa dal to fans of Indian food) and is delicious served hot or cold with warm pita bread, a glug of good olive oil, roasted green peppers and sliced raw onion (sorry @conantnyc). The recipe will be featured in my next newsletter. If you have not yet registered to receive it, you can head over to the homepage of

I’m just reading about the very sad death of Washington State QB, Tyler Hilinski, apparently through an act of suicide. So very sad. As someone who lives his life one step ahead (usually) of severe depression, my thoughts go out to his family. Remember if you are struggling @800273TALK are there, and can really help guide you through the darkness.
