Employee Regina Meacham nominated Southworth President, Brian McNamara to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. After making a donation he decided that he would still accept the challenge and braced himself for some icy cold water! Here is his video. #ALSicebucketchallenge #brrr #donate #fratetrain

For the safety of our employees, we are closing our offices at 3:30 today due to the heavy snow and reduced visibility. Normal business hours will resume tomorrow!

From our families here at Southworth to you and yours, thank you so much for your support and business.

"Go Tony!" Southworth Falmouth has started an exchange with Baxter Academy for Technology and Science, a STEM-focused high school in Portland. The FIRST Robotics team (The Outliers) brought their robot, Tony Stark, to our office last week. They had a terrific run at the recent World Championships in St. Louis -- the first time in 28 years of competition that a Maine-based team has won their division. Check out the video!

Here is a great article written interviewing Jim Galante, Southworth's director of Business Development. Check it's a good read and an important subject.

A simple material handling tool invented by a doctor may be the right answer to the question of how to deal with an aging and overweight material handling workforce.

Southworth celebrated its 125th Year Anniversary last week with an evening gala under the tent. Lots of old friends and employees as well as local dignitaries attended. It was a great evening with a jazz group and humorist Gary Crocker brought the evening to a close. Gary’s stories gave everyone a sense of the history of Southworth over the last 125 years. It was a great time! We are proud of our accomplishments and know that we will have many years ahead of us…building quality equipment that keeps people working safer and easier!

Southworth’s 125th Celebration is going to be more than just a party or pat on the back. We want to thank our communities for their continued support so our theme for the year is appreciation! One of the ways we want to give back is by donating 125 pints of blood. One blood donation can save up to three lives – and if we reach our goal of 125 pints that could potentially save 375 lives in our communities! If you donate blood this year, send us a message and let us know. Thank you for the support.
