Our Orthodontist-in-Chief, Dr Siva Vasudavan, is a graduate of the University of Western Australia, the University of Sydney and Harvard University. He was the Registrar at the Dental Department in Princess Margaret Hospital for two years, prior to completing his specialist training at Sydney Dental Hospital and Westmead. Dr Siva worked as a Locum Consultant at PMH in 2007, prior to commencing as the inaugural Fellow in the Harvard University Craniofacial and Cleft Lip/Palate... Orthodontics program at Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts, USA. He completed this clinical Fellowship program over two years and concurrently completed a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr Siva continues to contribute to academic endeavours in orthodontic education and research. He was a Faculty Member and Visiting Lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Children’s Hospital Boston Department of Dentistry for more than six years and is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia.
Dr Siva has contributed to various professional organisations in Australia and Internationally, having served as the Honorary Secretary of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (WA Branch), the Federal Chairman of the Recent Graduates Committee of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, and the WA Representative on the Communications and Information Committee of the Australian Society of Orthodontists. Dr Siva has served on the Recent Graduates, Continuing Professional Development, and Dental Health Committees for the Australian Dental Association (WA Branch). He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Craniofacial and Cleft Lip/Palate Association, Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics and the Tweed Edgewise Orthodontic Society. He is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists, a certified member of the Australasian Orthodontic Board and has completed examinations leading to Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Siva is currently the Chairman of the WA Regional Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and serves as Secretary of the St Hilda’s Parents and Friend’s Association.
Dr Siva has contributed to over twenty publications in the peer reviewed literature and two textbook chapters in Rudolph’s Paediatrics. His areas of research focus include growth and dental development in children, neonatal health, and prescription of antibiotics for children presenting with acute infections.

Dr Siva Vasudavan has been invited to lecture at the First World Orthodontic Biomechanics Symposium to be convened in Doha, Qatar, in January 2019. The meeting will bring together the leading clinicians and researchers in the field of Biomechanics from around the globe.

Dr Siva Vasudavan will be lecturing later this year in Melbourne at the 2nd Australian Benefit Users meeting on the use of palatal implants in practice. He will be chronicling our experience with customised 3D Cad-Cam printing of appliances in the management of ectopic and missing teeth, and coordinated surgical Orthodontic Care.
