I used Charleston's Spiritline Cruise to celebrate my husband's birthday this past weekend. Though our waiter was very friendly and accommodating, this experience was very disappointing.

Our very fi...rst impression of the site was sub-par, for there was no visible signage of where the boat was docked or where to go. We had to ask several people and still was not sure until towards the loading hour on where to go. Since we scheduled to leave at 7pm, it had gotten pretty chilly and once we boarded, it was cold on the boat and remained that way almost the entire time. This boat was very dated and shabby looking. You could see the actually patchwork carpet and it had an old aroma as well. Definitely not worth the money we had to pay for this cruise!

Our food came out at a descent time, however I still left hunger because my braised pork chop was so salty (which had also seeped down into the bed of rice it was placed on) that my husband would not even eat it. His food was ok, however they did not have adequate steak sauce which caused him not to finish his food.

The one man band was also a disappointment, especially when he song Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" for an anniversary dedication. (For those that don't know Clapton wrote this song in the mourning of his deceased son). Most of music was mundane and not dance worthy! I feel that live music is good for the beginning, however a DJ or a varied playlist would be better served for the after dinner entertainment.

We have taken many dinner cruises in VA and had high hopes of this cruise...there was no comparison...I will never use the dinner cruise in Charleston again!

I DO NOT recommend anyone taking this cruise with high expectations or if you are trying to have a good time!!

We sailed on the 2018 NYE Celebration Dinner Cruise this past Sunday night. We had a BALL downstairs on the ground floor! Our server (Vivian) was very attentive to our needs. She even agreed to snap a... couple of selfies we were attempting to take. We both ordered the ribeye and OMG it was THE BEST! The collards were incredible and the creamed sweet potatos were tasty too (just not a favorite for either of us). The she-crab soup was insanely delicious (I'm going to find that recipe!). The champagne vinigrette dressing on the salad was very nice, however the 100% use of kale in the salad was not good for us (others seemed to love it though). The flourless chocalate cake was too rich for my taste buds, plus by then I was tired of and just ready for the new year to come on in. We love our $10 add-on champagne glasses with Spiritline etched into th glasses. All-in-all...we had a blast. Oh yeah, the band on our level played some really upbeat tunes. People were singing along, dancing, and the head musician was very interactive with the crowd. Two thumbs up, Spiritline!! See More

My husband reserved a surprise dinner cruise for me for my birthday Friday night. The views were spectacular, the food was great, the guitarist/singer was awesome, and the staff was very friendly. If ...we ever go back down to Charleston again to do this, the only thing I would want done differently is a table and chairs to be outside, upstairs (while eating) where I can enjoy the view during the whole trip and not miss an hour being inside to eat and miss the views!! But all and all I really enjoyed myself with my hubby!!! See More

It was a nice cruise around the harbor. Staff was friendly and courteous. Food was very good I had the salmon which was fish of the day a little dry but good. All in all its definitely worth the money... and the white chocolate creme Brule was a great dessert. See More

The crew were all courteous and professional. Our server, Greg, was attentive and friendly and made us aware as we passed interesting points in the harbor. I had the ribeye steak and it was very good ...with mashed sweet potatoes and green beers. My wife had the shrimp and grits which were also good. The desserts were delicious! We will go again. The service was great - efficient and friendly. The food was just ok. In fairness, we have high standards. This was edible but not great. The trip included lots of spinning the boat in circles. Not t...he greatest maneuver if you want to avoid vertigo. I give the passengers credit for dressing nicely. See More

My friend and I are visiting, he from Wisconsin and I from Atlanta. This was our first encounter with Spiritline and it was absolutely wonderful. While we were in the line to board, a sweet lady a fe...w passengers ahead of us started having difficulty breathing. The medical professional in us kicked in and we were at her side quickly. Before we knew it, the Captain, the First Mate and other members of the crew were present. We moved on to take our seats. Before dinner was served, the First Mate Chad came to find us personally to update us on the condition of the ill passenger and to thank us for our assistance. The next thing we knew we were whisked away to a private table with the best view on the boat. Our server Aiko , was adorable and extremely attentive. We did not encounter one person who was not kind and genuinely glad to have us on board. While the food was good the staff made it an amazing evening. See More

Wonderful evening! Staff was so pleasant the whole night. There was a threat of rain and the captain 👩‍✈️ steered away and kept us dry! I would recommend this cruise 🚢 !

After a mix-up last August regarding reservation for a private table, Spiritline Cruises and Rick Mosteller took care of us immediately and set us up for a future cruise at our convenience. We finall...y were able to cruise in May 2017, our second time on Spiritline, and everything was quite perfect right down to the gorgeous setting sun over the harbor and a full moon. Our dinner was quite good with a generous portion of steak. This experience is all about the ambiance of cruising, enjoying the view from the water and relaxing. Even if the dinner was not stellar, I would still give this 5 stars.

Our sincere thanks to Augusta, Rick and Spiritline cruise staff for a most enjoyable and relaxing evening. I highly recommend.

I used Spiritline Cruises for my wedding dinner a few weeks ago. There were some positive and some negatives to it. My guests really enjoyed the evening and the view. The food was absolutely delicious... and the boat staff were very helpful.

However, there were quite a few technical difficulties in working with our event coordinator. I felt that she was extremely difficult to get in touch with. I would leave her a voicemail and have to wait several days before I would actually get to talk to her. She would send me an email saying that she was busy and would call me by the end of the day and then never did. I had to reach out again to get in touch with her. This happened twice during the course of our planning. This was most frustrating when I was trying to coordinate between vendors. I feel that their event coordinators need to be more responsive and easier to get in touch with. Maybe that means hiring more event coordinators!

Most disappointing was that our event coordinator told us that our phone was compatible with their system to play music. This turned out to be incorrect, our phone was not compatible and we had to have satellite radio complete with commercials playing for my event. I was very sad because put together a wedding playlist with songs that were meaningful and was extremely sad that it didn't work out. Our event coordinator brushed it off as her sound guy giving her bad information. I feel that she should have verified what she was telling me was correct.

Overall, I don't recommend Spiritline Cruises for weddings.

I booked a private charter with SpiritLine Cruises for my wedding, and I worked with Dawna. I had a wonderful experience overall! Dawna was very responsive during the planning stage (I had many questi...ons and contacted her relatively often). She was very knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating during the planning process. Ultimately, my wedding was amazing and went as planned, and Dawna's assistance with the coordinating contributed to that outcome. The staff members who worked during my wedding harbor cruise were polite, helpful, and efficient and also contributed to the success of my wedding. I recommend booking weddings and other events with SpiritLine Cruises, and Dawna is an awesome event manager with whom I'd highly recommend working! See More

SpiritLine hosted our company's Service Awards dinner. There was a slight glitch before the cruise and SpiritLine went out of their way to accomodate us. The staff was very kind and courteous, their s...ervice was great, the food was fantastic and the harbor cruise was wonderful! Our employees enjoyed it thoroughly! In fact, they are still talking about it! We are looking forward to our Fall cruise with them! Thanks, SpiritLine, for a job well done! See More

What a wonderful experience! We were on board for our family reunion. The experience was exceptional because my 3 year old son has a life threatening peanut allergy and I have to safe guard his food.... The crew was great at handling my questions and taking care of my son. Thank you again for the great service. KEEP IT UP! See More

If you didn't get to enjoy this years fantastic Piccolo Spoleto Festival Jazz Cruise Series you will definitely want to make plans now for next year. Take a look at this great clip provided by a guest that was onboard for the show last night. The River City Dixieland Jazz Band put on a quite a show. If you were lucky enough to be there, good for you, if not, there is always next year!
