To the members of the St. Cloud Remembered Facebook Page:
My name is Lance Sternberg and I am a graduate student at St. Cloud State University. I am currently one of five students taking a Public History that is focused on the sesquicentennial history of St. Cloud State. Each of us have chosen a decade, mine is the 1960s, and one or two themes within that decade. My theme is concentrated on voices that remain absent from prior, published, histories of the university. While s...ome focus will be given to student voices, I am most interested in speaking with people from the community that once, literally, surrounded the university. I would welcome, and be very grateful to, any of you that would like to share their stories, their histories. I would ask that any of you that are willing to do so message me on Facebook for initial contact and then we could setup your preferred way to talk, whether over the phone, email, or in person. Thank you for your time and consideration. I find myself very indebted to the curator of the St. Cloud Remembered page as they have already graciously donated their time to my cause and allowed me to communicate with any and all of you.
Jan Strommen responded to my request for photos from the 1965 St. Patrick's Day blizzard with this: My brother and sister in the alley behind our house. You can just see my dad peeking over the top of the snowbank in front of the garage door. No snowblowers in those days!
