There is energy here, inside and out....but there is synergy too. It's much more than the visual flow of wonderful gallery space. It's the edgy mind-set and aesthetic vision of the gallery owner/direc...tor/curator, Lori Horowitz, who is a brilliant artist, as well. Her exhibition calls lead serious emerging artists on creative and innovative quests and give visitors quite an exciting eyeful. This is definitely an art gallery that is a must visit and if you are in the market to purchase art......this is the place to come to again and again! See More

“ In-Justice For All”- A pop-up show at Studio 5404 Artspace (not for profit organization), in conjunction with the Long Island Progressive Coalition. The Long Island Progressive Coalition (LIPC) is a grassroots community-based organization founded in 1979, dedicated to promoting sustainable development, revitalizing local communities, enhancing human dignity, creating effective democracy, and achieving economic, social and racial justice. Artwork on display for this installation reflects different personas in our unique democratic landscape and subjects relating to immigration, gun control, LGBT rights, environment and the current global climate. Today we need the arts more than ever to vent, to comment, to react to our current conditions and digest how we perceive world events, creating greater understanding and unity.
Live music by Toby Tobias: Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Toby has immersed himself in many genres of American Music while never leaving behind his roots in the rhythms and melodies of his homeland. The show's message is one of racial equality, understanding of each other's cultures and religions and a strong desire for togetherness in a world which seeks to divide rather than bring together.
Refreshments will be served during the reception. All artwork is for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Long Island Progressive Coalition and Studio 5404, raising awareness and strengthening the arts.
Studio 5404 is an organization established in June 2013 by director Lori Horowitz and is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization. Studio 5404 has expanded opportunities for artists that have previously included, talks, critiques, informative participatory roundtable dialogs and will continue to do curate pop up shows, promoting cultural arts in all forms of visual and performing art.

My work is a study of personalities and environments. My images digest the posture of aging while faces reflect their stories. These strangers are subjects in my current pieces, ”Burned into Memory”. The translucent and reflective qualities of these pieces mimic the qualities experienced with the stages of dementia and the slow fading of ones-self. The shadows imply an after image or memory of “being a shadow of what you once were”.
