The translation of ‘An Sheng’ from two Chinese characters is: balance, peace and harmony.

You may never have thought of acupuncture in those terms before, but that's my job – to find out what the imbalances are, what systems are involved, and then to guide the body, through acupuncture, to help the body restore itself to balance.

When there is balance, there is harmony, and therefore physical and mental peace as well. Read more on my blog, and get in touch to see if acupunct...ure is right for you.

After years of dealing with pain and various western medicine to treat the symptoms, my last hope was acupuncture. I researched and called Susan Buhler LAc. She answered the phone, listened and answ...ered all my questions. She is gentle with her technique and goes right to the root of my problems. After the first visit, I was relieved of majority of my pain and gain a good range of mobility for my shoulder and arm. I gained hope for a normal life again. I can drive without experiencing a lot of pain, comb my hair, dress myself with very little discomfort. Thank you, Susan Buhler, for giving me some normalcy to living my daily life. I highly recommend Susan Buhler. I would give her a 10 Star rating if I could. See More

I was in a great deal of pain from a back injury and looking for a nearby acupuncture provider. I'm so glad my search led me to Susan. She is so compassionate and caring! She takes her time to lea...rn about not just what is going on with your body right now, but what other underlying issues may be in play. After two sessions I had such significant improvement in my pain that I had to remind myself to slow down a little so that I didn't re-injure myself by doing too much too soon! I really feel that I improved so quickly because of Susan's treatments. I highly recommend her! See More

My oh my, Susan is amazing ! I’ve been to other acupuncturists, and they are not all created equal, nor do all have the level of training and all around knack that Susan has. I’ve gone to her over man...y years for pain of one kind or another. Back pain, neck and shoulder, other joints or muscles. Also for digestive and heart issues, all of them successfully treated. I’m always impressed with her kind and attentive presence, her attention to the details of my story. She’s like a detective doctor. Some ‘insignificant’ details may prove to be most important. I’m happy as all heck to recommend Susan for whatever ails you. See More

After suffering from allergies for several years and giving up on my weekly allergen immunotherapy after 3 years, I finally decided to try acupuncture with Susan at the suggestion of an office co-work...er. Susan brought instant relief to my breathing. My results after just one visit made me a believer!

Her thorough review of my concerns, along with her treatment and suggested life changes have made my daily life more enjoyable.

I highly recommend her services. I am one of 4 out of 5 people in my office who have seen Susan.

Words alone cannot express the gratitude I feel towards Susan as a true professional in the healing art of acupuncture. She is patient, kind and compassionate in everything she does. I was referred... to her by a friend over four years ago and despite my hesitation, I decided it was time to try acupuncture to heal a strained shoulder. Susan took all the time necessary to explain the entire process of acupuncture and the healing techniques that she would use. My shoulder healed up quickly and I become a firm believer. I have continued to see Susan regularly for a chronic neck condition that I have and the relief that she brings me is amazing. Although I know it is all scientifically based, I still consider Susan and her techniques magical! See More

I highly recommend Susan Buhler if you want positive results!

After unsuccessful attempts to address chronic pain from physical injuries and PTSD utilizing traditional western medicine, I decided to... try acupuncture to avoid/minimize the use of toxic medications or invasive procedures. Most importantly, I wanted to focus and treat the cause - not symptoms.

My initial challenge was to identify a highly-trained professional who could address multiple complex problems with compassion, expertise, and positive outcomes. After researching practitioners throughout the Portland region, a friend recommended Susan Buhler. I immediately followed-up.

Prior to my first appointment, Susan talked with me over the phone to thoroughly discuss my issues and desired outcomes for pain relief. She explained her technique (very impressive), listened, and answered all my questions. My take away was that I’d finally found someone who could help me.

After seeing Susan for my first treatment, I immediately experienced a reduction in pain and emotional anxiety. I left with renewed hope for increased mobility and peace.

Over the last year, Susan and her unique (extremely gentle) technique has not only significantly diminished all physical pain but also eliminated the need for pain killers, helped combat internal infections and reduced mental stress. In short, Susan has helped me gain back my life. I’m extremely thankful to have found her and cannot recommend her strongly enough.

"In the United States, the official dietary guidelines do not explicitly call for a reduction in meat consumption. The amount of meat, poultry and eggs that the guidelines recommend, however, is generally lower than what Americans — at least adult men — currently consume. The guidelines call for an even bigger reduction in sugar consumption. All of this would mean less pollution, and more land available for nature."

Doctors at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California have developed a highly successful program for helping patients safely decrease their reliance on opioid pain medications utilizing acupuncture and other so-called alternative modalities. Acupuncture works!

Healthcare coverage and continuity of care are huge and personal issues for many people, especially those that must buy or find insurance through the government marketplace.

The Trump administration in its efforts to collapse #Obamacare has greatly reduced information (huge reduction in informational ads to assist and inform people), as well as the time frame to sign up for healthcare for 2018 (45 days less to enroll!).

I am posting this article with the hope that this hel...ps people find and enroll without a disruption in coverage. Please read on for more information so that you can protect your healthcare coverage.
