- I won't be eating at TGIFridays anymore ... After my experience on t...his past Monday . After a long day of work my fiancé and I wanted to eat dinner & have drinks .It was his last night visiting ( long distance relationship ) and we figured we'd go to one of our favorites Fridays . It was getting late and we were short on time so we were glad when we got seated rather quickly . The waitress comes over & takes my appetizer order & recommends the new drink specials they have going on . After deciding on a Long Island my fiancé chose his drink and she asked for ID . Cool , no problem , routine ... Right ? Wrong ! After a few mins she says that she can't accept my ID ( I used my drivers license ) . Confused I asked her why not , & of all things she says because it is VERTICAL ! I explain to her that , that doesn't make any sense my ID is a valid state issued ID . It wasn't expired or damaged or anything it was VALID . All she could say as it was vertical . Now I'm great with not losing things so I still have my original ID . I explain to her that I come to that Location all the time using the same ID & it's never been an problem before . I had just ate and drank there 2 weeks prior & they accepted my valid vertical state issued ID . She says the policy had changed in JUNE and its AUGUST . Now it's time to speak to a manager , who comes over and reiterates the same thing the waitress said they can't use my If because it's vertical . Only explanation I got is because it's VERTICAL ! How much sense is that . So now after cutting into my time I have left to spend with my fiancé we left Fridays & went to Outback across the street who gladly accepted my vertical valid state issued ID with no problem just like any other establishment should .
