  • Tina Martin is an Emmy nominated and Edward R. Murrow award winning television/radio reporter and host for WGBH News in Boston. She has a dynamic personality that has made her extremely popular with television viewers and radio listeners.

    Tina reports regularly for the television program Greater Boston and is a fill-in host for Basic Black. On the radio side she reports for 89.7 FM during the local broadcasts of National Public Radio's Morning Edition and All Things Considered. She contributes to NPR, PBS Newshour and has hosted Local, USA a national television magazine style show on WORLD Channel.

    Tina was previously a weekend morning anchor and reporter for a television network affiliate in Connecticut.

    Tina's radio work on the 2004 Democratic national convention in Massachusetts won an Associated Press award in 2005. She is the first African American in that station's history to win the award, which made national headlines.

    Tina has won several other awards throughout her career.

    She was chosen as a fellow by the Radio Television Digital News Foundation in 2009-2010. (Jacque Minnottee National Health Reporting Fellowship)

    She was chosen as Best Local TV Reporter by readers of Hartford Magazine in the 2011 Best of Hartford Contest.

    Tina's television series Tina Around Town was honored by the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists in the 2010 Excellence in Journalism contest.

    Tina was also chosen as a National Press Foundation fellow in March 2012; where she traveled to Denver, Colorado to discuss media coverage of health issues.

    Tina was named one of Connecticut's "Most Powerful and Influential Women of 2012" by the National Diversity Council.

    Known for her smile and warm personality, Tina is a big proponent of building self esteem among young people. She is a sought after public and motivational speaker.

    She received her degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College in Boston.
